Here's a good grammatically unsound acronym for this thread: DKBW (Don't Know But Want).

With the prawn chips and basil it looks (is?) Thai, but what's the name of the dish?

I dunno, I just make what we like. But glad you like it, It's just everything we like. Perhaps it's a mongrel? :D

Marinade some finely sliced sirloin in soy whilst everything that follows is being done.

Make a mix of fresh grated ginger, garlic, lemon grass, chilli, soy, mirin and sugar. Boil and then really crisp some fine noodle. Pan roast some raw peanuts - prefer them to cashew. Stir fry some sliced onion, sweet red pepper and beansprout. Reserve it all. Stir fry the meat and spice mix. When cooked add the reserve previous fried mix. Spoon into bowls. Some basil on top. I have no idea what it is called. I guess it morphed into this over many years.

Stir fry chilli beef? What would you call it?

Pizza, pork chop and cheap red wine while watching the ocean pass between Isafjordur and Qaqortoq.

There's this place that just opened not too far from my workplace in College Point Queens, Genaro's Italian Restaurant - the pizza there is killer. Went in for a few slices for lunch. Avoid their dishes though.

I just grilled some bacon and gorgonzola burgers from a local butcher, very good. I also had a chicken sausage with pineapple and bacon, very good as well.

Went for great pizza at Dominic's in PA. Almost like NY.

Good call.

No matter what you want to name it, it sounds aroy to me! Though I'm curious, does Waitrose have pre-made Thai meals?

Probably. Never shop at Waitrose although take some of their food from Ocado. They have a couple of passable Thai curries but the meat portions are very mean and we wouldn't buy them again.

Some of the previous times I made our stir-fry had some other variations of veg with it. Mange tout and small sweetcorns are good. Bac choi adds no flavour just colour. Other have varied slightly but all same much the same. Also tried varying the noodle quantity. I think it's a shame that so few Brits seem to learn to really master a wok and some of the basic techniques you can use to overcome slower gas rings. Ours is a mere 5kw or so.

Some earlier versions .....

Yes I have and it is freaking amazing. I go there every Friday with coworkers. It's delicious, but the service is just not so good. We deal with it for the food.

Meat Omelet with chorizo, cheese, peppers and onions plus my usual Snickerdoodle and Chai Latte at Mad Hatter's in Durham. I'll be back more often now that school is back in session, their Wifi is almost unusable so I actually get studying, not Flyertalking, done here :D

If you got the place, I got the wok!

Having the right burner for the mega wok might be any issue.
