Went to Tasu Sushi & Thai in Raleigh on my way to RDU. They had a lunch special where I got Tan Tan Noodles with chicken and shrimp, an eggroll and a soda for $10. And it was all quite good ^

Breakfast - my version of eggs Benedict, eggs tomatodict - eggs fried slowly in olive oil amd served over slices of heirloom tomatoes. With a bit of extra tomatoes and nova salmon as accompaniments.

Lunch - vegan protein shakes with some frozen raspberries added for flavor.

Dinner - first course - gazpacho (from a restaurant to add to the rest of dinner.

Main course - cooked at home - bok choy from the farmers market sautéed in olive oil with Spring garlic shoots (also farmers market) for a bit then steamed by adding water and soy sauce and covering for a while. Wild king salmon covered with a bit of olive oil and grilled on the George Forman. First visit to one of our two local farmers market this season. Jazzed about that.

Dessert - half of a good Swiss dark chocolate - 85% cocoa bar.

In this case, is "flavor" code for palatability? :D

No, the flavored ones are pretty good alone. They also sell a "natural" that doesn't have a strong flavor but is quite palatable. It is good as a base to add your own ingredients to so it doesn't conflict with them. Adding ingredients results in a better flavor I think but requires a blender where as with the flavored ones I just mix with water in a shaker/mixer.

Twelve hour flight to HKG so pretty much all airline food today.

Tomorrow will be different :D

Breakfast: Granola bar and a cup of Amtrak coffee
Lunch: Panda Express from ATL. I'd forgotten how much I actually enjoy their fake Chinese.

Dinner is undecided.

Spent two days outside in the hot sun at the Special Olympics, and now that I'm back home, I can't stop eating salty things: smoked salmon, ramen, now Ruffles potato chips --- and, of course, liquids to go with them.

I'm eating a Cobb salad right now. While I do like Cobbs (they have TWO kinds of meat!) I do hate how they're self-assemble. So I have to cut everything into small pieces, then stab it with my fork, then eat it. Too much work!

Get them to go, and shake them up in the carry-out container...

Looks delightful, I'd even suffer the oven chips for a ribeye like that!

Yahillwe Jun 16, 2014 7:20 am

@UK, what did you do with the tomato sauce?
