Sells out instantly. To get an early shot at tickets, join IMBIBE ("I'm a Big Illinois Beer Enthusiast"). http://www.illinoisbeer.com/members/imbibe/
Better yet, volunteer to pour for a session (with plenty of tastes available) and get a free ticket for another session.

You should come to Chicago in November for FOBAB ("Festival of Wood- and Barrel-Aged Beer").

Wow. That looks amazing. I may just have to do that. ^
Volunteering is definitely an option. Good way to meet some people.

It's been a while since I had the 6. Now that I think about it, the Pater 6 was a dark ale, more of a Dubbel style. I've never had the 4 (or even seen it), but if it's a blonde or pale ale then that's probably closest to the Westy Blonde. Otherwise look for La Trappe Blonde, Maredsous 6, o even the new Spencer Trappist Ale.
.
.
If it's similar to the 4, it's okay but nothing special as might have been expected, considering the reputation of the 12. We can source La Trappe and Maredsous tripels, but not the blondes, so no idea there. We did try the Spencer Trappist Blonde - the first trappist ale neither of us bothered finishing as it has that diffuse or diluted flavor typical of American-brewed beers.
Curious - any recommendations on witbiers?

Picked up 4 cases of Zombie Dust myself in last 2 days. And a FT friend in town got me her 2-case-per-day allotment.

Nothing new in the fridge. Went out this afternoon and tried a couple new beers. The first was a strawberry flavored beer that I wish I could forget. I've already forgotten who brewed it. What was I thinking? The second was Terrapin Liquid Bliss chocolate peanut butter porter and it was outstanding. Maybe I should have combined the two for a kind of peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Naw. I highly recommend the Liquid Bliss though.
