Unless you can find a HH property for 4 nights for less than $300 then your bet is to buy the miles. Even if you can stay twice for two nights each, it might make better sense to pay $300 for 2500 MQM instead of paying less for only 500 MQMs.

Need 4500 MQMs to make Gold medallion

Hi- So, I'm 11500 MQMs short of Gold status. I have an international trip departing atl dec 25 that will get me 7500 MQMs. But the return trip is Jan 10, so delta won't credit me the other 7500 as part of 2011 accrual. Which leaves me at 4000-4500 mqm short. I already got the 5k MQM boost through credit card. Apart from buying the MQMs, are there any options to build the MQMs? Would love help with finding a RT ticket to SFO or other US city dec 16-18 wkend that may earn me the MQMs left. Advice anyone? Much appreciated.

Hi gotpassport.

I'm no expert -- this is actually my first post, too -- but this is what I would do:
https://dn.delta.com/skymiles/purchasemqms/buy/landing
The program ends on December 15.

I'm actually in the opposite situation. I'm dangerously close to PM, and I'll be doing my best to avoid travel for the rest of the year so as not to lose my rollover MQM's. I wish it was as easy as transferring the rest of my year's MQM's to you.

Hope the above link helps.

ATL-SFO the 16th-18th is not a cheap trip as you're buying too late - even the 7-day adv purchase fares are gone. Think $750+. LAX can be done for $579 that weekend to yield 3892 MQM.

Can you get a good cheap fare from ATL/Santiago? That's a pretty easy flight with little jet lag as the time zones are so similar.

you can earn 3,892 doing a round trip ATL-LAX with non-stop flights for less than $600.

Take a connection or two via MSP, SLC, SEA, etc and you may be able to make your mileage goal.

I'd just buy the miles unless you can combine your "miles run" with something you actually want to do. I'd be very hard pressed to do an actual miles run.

Delta SkyClub membership

There is a promo currently running thru the end of the year. If you purchase an annual membership, you get 1500 MQMs

The OP already took advantage of that.

Best bet is to buy the miles. Pretty much only bet at this point if you can't fly!

Buy the miles and do it soon, before the offer expires in mid-December. I would consider buying the maximum and getting some rollover since the cost per mile is cheaper when you buy more of them.

Buy them. Also, I'm pretty sure the Hilton promo expired yesterday (Dec 11th).

Have you looked through all your mileage statements for the past year to make sure everything was credited correctly?

Maybe you were rerouted sometime from a one-stop flight to a non-stop, and you could claim original routing credit for the difference.
