Hertz has not promoted me from 5* to PC. Maybe I ought to give them a call.

Hertz is the rental car equivalent of united but far far worse. I have had them over charge me for the higher gas rate even though in the contract i prepaid for the lower gas fought with american express and won. Bonus miles continually never posted and never got PC. No hertz employee even knows what PC program is or doesnt believe hertz has a relationship with delta. Many other horrible experiences as well. National alamo enterprise treats me well no bonus miles issues great customer service. No hassle they have won my business.

Yep, I had to have Amex chargeback, too. This is after reaching out to Hertz many times and getting the runaround constantly along with smartass remarks from the social media.

.... Hertz.

1. Even though you are a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member, it is necessary
to re-save your Hertz GPR number under “Car Preferences” in your Profile
on Delta.com. Also, you will be logged in, but may be prompted to log-in
again.

2. It is repetition, but to ensure fulfillment, please edit and re-save
your Hertz GPR number here again (even though it appears to be correct
and properly saved already. This triggers your GPR number to be included
in the next file Delta forwards to Hertz.

When the GPR is saved, to opt-in (including entering your SkyMiles
number for eligibility verification) you will be prompted to go to:

https://www.delta.com/mypromos/acela...status_benefit

If the Hertz GPR number is in place, a message will say:

“YOU ARE ALREADY ENROLLED IN THIS PROMOTION”

Mr. ZKOKA, I hope this information satisfactorily answers your
question.

What can I say, logged into Hertz GPR today and am now Pres Circle. ^
Thanks for posting this suggestion - it worked for me getting my Five Star status approved (attached to being a GM).

I'm guessing I'll have to do the same thing later this month when I hit PM to get President's Circle.

I just made Delta platinum so I figured I'd register for this. However when I go in to the page in my skymiles account and click the link to opt in, I get this:

"This promotion is not active. We encourage you to check out our other great offers on our Promotion Highlights page."

Is this the link you tried?

I tried again 2 days later, exact same link as before, and it worked this time. DL IT at its finest I suppose.

The good news is that I'm sitting here on December 23, which is only 5 days later since I opted in, and my account has been upgraded to president's circle already. So ^ on making the improvement from the order of several weeks to the order of a few days.

I spent about 1 month trying to get this to work.

I was stuck on #4: after I entered all my info and clicked Save, there was no link that appeared, i.e. "Follow the link that appears to enter your Delta SkyMiles number for verification and opt-in to receive your benefit."

I finally used the online comment form to ask for help. I was sent an 800# that was supposed to connect me to Delta.dumb, but it took me to Delta international. Hahaha.

After being passed around a few times, a friendly .dumb agent said I needed to click this link:

https://www.delta.com/mypromos/acela...status_benefit

She read it to me over the phone, and that activated my Pres Circle, which kicked in in less than 48 hours.

.... Hertz.
I wouldn't rent from Hertz if the car were free. I've had several snafus with them, the final straw being messed around twice on my honeymoon. Sexist shuttle drivers, being stranded at a train station, having the local office leave their phone off the hook (even corporate couldn't get through for an hour). It took months (and much social media shaming) to get a refund.

I did all this, but the prompt to opt-in does not appear. I can go to that link independently and it says “YOU ARE ALREADY ENROLLED IN THIS PROMOTION”. But it has always said that. I still do not have Hertz President's circle.
Hertz say they cannot do anything until Delta feeds them the information.
Delta CS is completely clueless and tried to send me to "Delta Vacations, since they deal with rental cars".
I have re-saved the information and re-submitted it several times. I have been DM before and after this promotion. In fact the "my promotions" page shows me as registered for this promotion since Dec 2014 and currently registered.
If anyone has any suggestions other than just waiting another 8 weeks as the last "CS" moron I spoke to suggested, I would be grateful.

Angry How do you ACTUALLY get the Hertz President’s Circle status for Diamonds?!

I've been trying for HOURS with both Delta and Hertz to figure out how to get the upgrade to President’s Circle status that is SUPPOSED to be a benefit of both Diamond and Platinum.

Hertz says "call delta"... And 3 different reps on the Diamond desk have said they have never even heard of the "benefit", and I've been on hold on and off for nearly 2 hours. Still nobody at Delta has a clue how to initiate the status match with Hertz.

I've had a couple of them even try and tell me it's not an actually benefit, even though it's right here on the "SKYMILES MEDALLION® BENEFITS" page:

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...-benefits.html

Right there at the bottom under "Hertz Benefits" is says: "President’s Circle® status in the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards®" for both Platinums and Diamonds.

When you click the link on the benefit it takes you to this page:
https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...s-benefit.html

Which gives 4 steps you are supposed to follow, but the problem is it doesn't work! It says "4. Follow the link that appears to enter your Delta SkyMiles number for verification and opt-in to receive your benefit."

However, no matter what you do, it NEVER gives you the link... And NOBODY on the phone has a clue how to actually get it to work.

I can't be the only Diamond who this is happening to... Anyone else get Delta or Hertz to honor this "benefit"? If so HOW?!

I had a similar problem about a year ago when my status changed to Platinum. I recall that I was instructed to login, and under the car loyalty program I needed to delete my Hertz number, and save.

I then went back and entered my Hertz again. That seemed to trigger the system to look at the number again and compare it to my Delta status. After that I was able to follow the link for verification and opt-in. It was a couple of days before the status showed on Hertz.

I may have some of the steps wrong since it was some time ago. but I do remember that is was a Delta issue rather than a Hertz issue.

Good luck.

I went through this recently. The website does not work to upgrade to the President's Circle status, although it let me enter my Hertz number and linked it to my DL FF account with no problem.

I started by calling the DM line. They didn't know what to do, but transferred me to tech support who opened a "ticket" and said to try to do it again online in 48 hours. Nothing seemed to happen.

On my next attempt, I called Hertz and got transferred around a bit before someone told me that the only solution was to send an email to the following address:

[email protected].

It seemed improbable but I sent them an email with my Hertz number and DL FF number, etc. The phone agent said that I would get a response in something like 2-7 days, that these people are good, etc. Nothing seemed to happen; no response and it was as if the email went into a black hole. I had even marked it as urgent in the subject line as I had an upcoming car reservation and would have liked to have President's Circle treatment, but that didn't happen.

Then about six weeks after sending the email I received a thick envelope with my President's Circle card.

It is painful but if you really want it, and it can be useful, you have to insist that someone actually do their job because their system is broken.

Here is my email thread. After the last reply from me suggesting they do some work, I got my status on the Hertz web site the next day.

Dear Mr. XXX
RE: Case Number XXX

Thank you for expressing your concerns about the Hertz President's Circle membership and thank you for being such a loyal Delta customer. We are sorry you have had so much trouble gaining this status with Hertz.

We recognize you have already gone through the registration process, but ask that you try registering again, following each step below carefully, just to make sure.

To ensure you receive your status please be sure to complete the steps below to successfully enroll in this promotion:

1. Since you are already a member in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards, the first step is to save your Hertz GPR number under "Car Preferences" in your Profile on Delta.com at the link below:

https://www.delta.com/profile/travel...g=HertzLoyalty

If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to login.

In order to ensure prompt fulfillment of your benefit, please edit and re-save your Hertz GPR number here again, even if it appears correct and properly saved already. This will trigger your number to be included in the very next file we send to our partners at Hertz.

2. The second step is to opt-in to receive your benefit.

Once your GPR number is saved, you will be prompted to opt-in by following the link provided below and entering your SkyMiles number for eligibility verification:

https://www.delta.com/mypromos/acela...status_benefit

If you have already done this, you will receive a message that says:

"YOU ARE ALREADY ENROLLED IN THIS PROMOTION"

Once you have successfully completed these steps, we will ask Hertz to process your status. It will take as little as 1 day and no more than 8 days for processing.

All of the steps above are outlined at the link below for your reference:

http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...s-benefit.html

We appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay you've experienced. If you are able to successfully complete the steps above, then we will quickly process your claim and get you started enjoying the full benefits of elite status in the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program.

Mr. X, as a Diamond Medallion member, you are an integral part of our customer base and we hope this email has helped you. If after another 8 days, your member status is still not reflected, please contact us again. We can then contact our SkyMiles Account Support desk for further research. Thank you for taking the time to write. We deeply value your business.

I have done what you suggest at least five times. It seems your advice
is to do it again and wait 8 days. I fail to see why you think a
different result will ensue. Kicking the can down the road like this is
not service. I suggest you have an employee actually look into my
account and fix the problem.

Thank you for your additional comments concerning our recent exchange of
email. We try to be responsive when any problem is brought to our
attention, and we regret you are disappointed with our reply.

If you have already done the steps provided previously and received the
notification that you are already enrolled, please call the Diamond
Reservations desk to provide your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards number and
request the specialist to contact our SkyMiles Account Support Desk for
assistance in reaching out to our Hertz Liaison.

We regret any frustration our process may cause however, these are
necessary steps to follow to ensure all is being done to update your
Hertz account.

Mr. X, thank you again for giving us an opportunity to respond
to your concern. We very much appreciate your Million Mile Diamond
Medallion loyalty to Delta and look forward to the privilege of serving
you again soon.

I hate to sound like a broken record but I started out calling the Diamond Line and asking them to do something. They sent me to the people who deal with web problems. I spoke to them and they suggested I re-register for the program on line, exactly what you told me to do again. When I pointed out I had done this, the rep tried to transfer me to Delta Vacations because "they deal with rental cars".
I have already provided you (and the Diamond Line) with the information you suggest I provide the Diamond Line by calling again. You are apparently on the Diamond Desk. Why can't you "reach out" to the Hertz Liaison, instead of suggesting I go into this loop again?
