Did you get the actual voucher, or just an email saying it's coming?
So far, I got an email saying the voucher is coming, and another telling me that 20K miles were to be deposited on my account (they already did). Here's what's odd. I got a second email 8/9 at 3 AM (first was at 1 AM). Same exact language re $200 voucher. My son was flying with me but that email address was not on his profile and he was on a separate PNR. So not sure if it was a duplicate email, a second voucher, or somehow meant for my son. I also got a survey email on 8/10 and another today at that same email address. |

Agree. So far this process seems to be as clear as their upgrade chart.
And just posted my data. If others did the same, we could help each other out with expectations and reasonable requests. |
Delta cancelled my HNL-SLC flight (1104) and automatically booked me onto Hawaiian flights Monday. I got home 14 hours later than originally scheduled, late Monday night. Today I got 20k "Medallion appreciation" skymiles. No email about a voucher as of yet.

I received a survey apologizing but no voucher

Impact: 4 hrs delay of LAX-AUS on Monday...not the world, but since it changed arrival to 3:00am, the most painful 4 hrs...
Delta response: 20k medallion appreciation miles. No info yet on voucher, filled out form yesterday Status (if it matters): DM |
Impact - 6 hrs to go RDU-ATL
Delta response - $200 credit and 20,000 bonus miles Status - DM/3MM |
If anyone hasn't seen the latest on the delta news site, there is a more detailed summary of what happened:
Monday morning an uninterrupted power source switch experienced a small fire which resulted in a massive failure at Delta’s Technology Command Center. This caused the power control module to malfunction, sending a surge to a transformer outside of Delta, resulting in the loss of power. The power was stabilized and power was restored quickly. But when this happened, critical systems and network equipment didn’t switch over to backups. Around 300 of about 7,000 data center components were discovered to not have been configured appropriately to avail backup power. |

However, I think it's fair to ask whether DL had appropriate contingency plans in place, including rescheduling algorithms to move crew to where they could have the most positive effect on the network system. There should have been advanced planning for how something of this nature would be handled, but instead we get the impression that it's being done in a seat of the pants mode.
One part of the job is to avoid meltdowns but it's equally important to know how to recover optimally when a meltdown does happen. |

Yep. In my industry if we didn't have all this we'd get clobbered by the regulators.
