Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

Guess the Shake Shack helps, in case I need to use LAX after May. ^

We arrived on a mainline flight last week and sat for just a bit more than an hour waiting for a gate. Ugh!

LAX Airport has a few different websites with info and updates on what they call the redevelopment, and what I call construction & delays.

(I follow DL updates where available as I do fly DL, but also because I fly AC and they are part of this move and terminal swap, out of T2 and into T6)

Needless to say, my flights to and from LAX recently have been delayed 1.5 hours minimum due to the LAX GDP - the Ground Delay Program. Aircraft are held at origin and the information is posted daily on the FAA website.

This page has some terminal info. If I find anything else I'll add it in. This is the February 2017 update. Bottom of page 2 is the section "Terminal Construction/Renovation"

That's been par for the course for the past few years.

Hopefully this will improve after the move is completed.

Hopefully Air Canada and Virgin will keep their gates in T2 and T3. It will be nice having access to their lounges when flying Delta out of LAX. It is going to suck not having access to the KAL lounge at Bradley anymore since T3 isn't connected to Bradley

Air Canada is moving to T6, so that Delta can move to T2.

Is Virgin staying in T3? I liked having the use of the Alaska Boardroom in T6 (offerings weren't as good as the Skyclub for food but was much more peaceful) and the KAL lounge in KAL lounge at Bradley if I had an afternoon flight. Would be nice to have an alternative to the Skyclub but maybe there won't be all the chaos if there are two clubs there.

The (remaining) Virgins are going to be in T2.

Virgin America is going to T6 (part of the AS-VX merger). Virgin Australia/Atlantic will be staying in T2/3.

True.. I already killed Virgin America in my mind, since it will be Alaska soon enough.

If you have a same day BP for a flight out of any LAX terminal you can access any LAX terminal.

So the KAL lounge would be in reach at TBIT if you had a flight departing T2 - you just need to go though security twice.
