Read post 844 for tips on being approved for the business card.
It may be easier to get approved for a new business with 0 years and $0 gross income.

April 2024: BOA Biz Recon (Small Biz Lending, Credit Analyst) 888-782-7717, 888-569-4439 (M-F 8am-7pm EST), both answered by live human in 2-4 minutes. (Both numbers confirmed multiple times in the past 2-3 days.)

Biz card status line: 888 663 6262 (not working)
Biz Card credit analyst line: 888-782-7717
Biz card expedited shipping: wait 24 hours after approval for a card number to generate then call 800-901-9830 and a person will answer. If 1st Rep says "no" ask him/her to ck. with a supervisor. This worked for me.

Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.
Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.
When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.
If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.
Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.
Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

I closed my first personal card in Dec 2017. Five weeks later (earlier this month), I got approved for another AS personal.

I put it that way because I'm not sure. I typically wait a month or two at least. I don't know if that's necessary or not.
There's just aren't that many people churning the business card that often to have a lot of datapoints on details like that.

Ahh nice. You're in a good position. In retrospect I should have gotten on the Alaska train way into last year, but I didn't foresee them clamping down like they have.

Question on applying for Alaska Sig for the first time
Hi this is my first time posting on the forum. I have finally decided to get the alaska sig card. Have been a BOA customer for almost 6 years. Currently have a checking account(opened 6 years a go) and BBR Visa with CL of $1500 (opened 3 years ago). Credit score is 758 based on the fico score provided by BOA. Only opened 1 credit card in the last 24 month across all the credit card issuers. From what I read in this thread. Is this what I should do in order to get the signature card:
1. apply online
2. if pending call recon immediately to ask them to raise the CL?
3. if approved with lower than $5k CL. Make a new app immediately
4. if the new app got denial or pending, call recon ask them to approval for the signature card and cancel the first app.
Are those what i should do to get the card? Does it normally take 2 months to get the physical card if i have to go to step 4?
BTW, I think I will definitely get a pending since i have a extended fraud alert on my credit report.
Thanks for anyone that could help me get this card

The only time it happened to me, BofA admitted it was a mistake, and let me convert the first card I had applied for, though it did take about two months.
By the way, something to consider:
1. While there are two versions of the personal card (Signature with 25k bonus and Platinum with tiny bonus), there is only one version of the business card. So if you apply for the business card, you cannot possibly get less than 30k bonus if you're approved.
2. You don't have to have a business to apply for a BofA business card. Just give your name as the business name, your address as the business address, your phone as the business phone, 0 years in business, $0 business in come to date, 0 employees (or 1 if they let you choose 0, because they're counting you), and Sole Proprietor as the business type. You'll then (if approved) get a card which simply lists your name twice, once as your name and once as the business name ).
3. If BofA feels it can't approve you for enough CL on a business card, they may offer to approve you only if you open up a CD at BofA and fund with $1500, and then they'll approve you for the business card with a CL of $1500 (so you're basically getting a 'secured" card in a roundabout way!). There've been a few people who've had that happen to them upthread, but it's hard to tell how widespread that is.

How to get an instant credit card #
DP: I waited just over a week after canceling my biz card to reapply. It was rejected initially since my business had little credit history, but my biz banker set up a concall with the approval agent and we got it manually approved. I got this help since I set up a biz checking account through the current $1000 promo. Too much hassle so next time I'd definitely wait longer between applications.
Now, I understand people have gotten an instant credit card # before actually getting the physical card. What phone # do you call to get this instant credit card # ?

So here is something new (atleast for me)...
Just applied for Alaska Business card - went pending and got message that will make decision in 7 days. Not sure if there is any meaning to 7 days vs 10 days vs 30 days
Anyways...whats strange is that if I go to application status website - it is not able to pull up my application. Keeps saying that information is wrong. I am sure I applied with correct info - double and triple checked it.

That check application status page is only for personal card applications, not for business card applications.
I just updated the wiki to note that.
