Business card Recon Line:
April 2024: BOA Biz Recon (Small Biz Lending, Credit Analyst) 888-782-7717, 888-569-4439 (M-F 8am-7pm EST), both answered by live human in 2-4 minutes. (Both numbers confirmed multiple times in the past 2-3 days.)
866-695-6598 (8-7pm EST M-F)
Biz card status line: 888 663 6262 (not working)
Biz Card credit analyst line: 888-782-7717
Biz card expedited shipping: wait 24 hours after approval for a card number to generate then call 800-901-9830 and a person will answer. If 1st Rep says "no" ask him/her to ck. with a supervisor. This worked for me.

Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.

Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

Attitude adjusted. If this was her 1st or 2nd card with BofA I could understand it. But she has had many cards over the past 10+ yrs. Oh well, we'll play their game.

[Edit: Approved after 2nd phone call.]

Nope, you aren't doing the bank any favor. Each app for a credit card is stand alone by itself. Identify-verification-needs do get triggered from so many different reasons. as simple as the IP address you are applying from. Some times it just so happens that the respective Marketing lead scoring systems would have added certain IPs added to some sort of competitor/blocked/ sort of lists internally.

So, it seems like we need to wait the 91 days between apps to make sure they are not flagged as dups? We're not even close to that :P
How long did you wait between the time you closed personal #1 and then applied for pers #2 ?

BofA AF refund policy is 60 days from date of billed?

I hope AS / BofA would not repeat its hunt on closing cards to avoid paying AF that happened some 2 or 3 years ago, which resulted to AS shut down FFP accounts or put restrictions on the redemption requirements. I am a bit worried about that when and if there are some human eyes look at the accounts.

My wife was just approved for the AS personal card (after 2 ph. calls) and it was her 6th new card since Feb. 2017. The other 5 were from Chase, AMEX and Barclay.

I don't know if I'd call 5 new cards in ~7 months that much, but who knows with these banks. They're so arbitrary and they don't apply their policies equally across applicants.

The AF billed at the end of September and I closed it the beginning of November, so ~35 days.

The application I just got approved for (AS personal) was submitted at the same time as my 6th new card in 91 days, not including upgrading an AmEx HHonors card to a Surpass card.

So 2 out of the 6 cards are the BofA personal card, AND 1 BofA biz card between the 2 personal cards, is that right? If so, are you getting up to the lassumed BofA current rules limitation?

Thanks for the info. I have a Chase spot opens up sometimes in January. Once that is out of the way, then can join the party here, if the rules remain the same that is.

HH upgrade should not count as the account number remains the same. We have the upgrade offers but decide not to take them as the spend of $3K is too high when we also get DL's targeted offers without restriction for 50K at $2k+$1K and a 60K at $1K only - both biz and personal. With AMEX scrutinizes spend, need to prioritize.

Actually, 2 of 7 the second BoA personal card wasn't counted in the 6.

Still fine within 2-3-4, 2 personal cards on > 2 months. The Business card should not count toward 2-3-4. It seems that if you get the CD in order to get the Business card that you might be able to churn that every 3 months? Hard to say. I needed 120K AS miles for our Alaska trip and my wife got a personal card as well so we should be all set now!

Received Alaska airlines credit card and called Bank of America to activate the card. I inquired about the 1k spending for $100 credit , companion fare ticket and the 30k Alaska airlines bonus points. I was transferred to Promotion and CSR could not see any information about my credit card and she transferred me to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. I hung up the phone and decided not to ask about the perks.

Should I be good to go for the promotion as I did click on the link for the promotional offers?

Is Bank of America one that would approve you for a credit card but then don't give you the points and $100 statement credit?

Those are two separate questions.

BofA will always give you some points if you're approved, but if you didn't get approved for the Visa Signature card but for the Visa Platinum instead, they give you a tiny fraction of the points you'd get with the Visa Signature.

As to the $100 credit, they should give to you if you used a link which actually had it and applied carefully*.. But not all links have it, and some people get confused about link and/or don't apply carefully (which includes using private/incognito mode in case you checked out any other links in recent times*), and don't get it for that reason.

* If you look at a link which gives A on a browser, then you close that link and within a certain time open the link you really want which gives B on that same browser, the browser cookies that got set when you looked a link A may be the ones that the bank sees (and thus the bank gives you A instead of B)! That's why it's safest to use private'incognito mode, because that mode pretends there are no existing cookies (as well as not saving any cookies either).
