Oil change complete, breakfast acquired, unruly bank account fees vanquished, home loan closing check received, and credit card fraud claim updated to show all transactions. A productive morning. :-:

Morning, er, afternoon Box

We've got big cooking plans this weekend so went up to Fairway this morning. For those non-NYCers, it's just about the only grocery store in Manhattan with a parking lot and real-sized carts.

Spent longer trying to find parking back at the apt than we did at the grocery store.

Made up for it though by making lamb chops and scrambled eggs for brunch. 15 minutes for prep, cook, and eat. Orgasmically yummy.

Also, today was my first adventure to an HEB Plus. It is my new favorite grocery store.

Off to get an :rolleyes:il change and some breakfast.

Just made brunch - got up and drove to do Angelfood this morning. Car wasn't too bad but there are few stops on that route at that time of a Saturday.

HEB Plus is a mini central market :D

There was an HEB built in Waco that initially carried the central market moniker, but is now HEB Plus as they didn't want to reduce the central market name some.

it still has the cooking stations, bulk grains, scheduled cooking training events, wine tastings etc, just not 'quite' the central market.

After allowing a few hours for my boat show hangover to recede (too many beers at fake Frosty's watching Alex Bevin and Twiggy), I have now been pretty productive with my day.

Bought bread, veggies, and spices from the West Side market and am roasting a chicken as we speak.

Also prepping fish tacos!

Hmmmm. I did not even know that Fairway had a parking lot. I have always assumed that one needed to go to New Jersey to do supermarket type shopping and that there was no reasonable alternative in town.

Where I live, the gourmet and really neat stuff that they don't sell in New Jersey you get at Agata and Valentina or Sables or some such. Now I have something new to check out.

Yeah, that's really how it felt. It was great and it had a full selection of everything I can't find a smaller HEB stores. They also have a gardening section that may prove useful once we move in. ^
