Agree with the hiring of lawyer thing -- my dad did not do all of his planning well, and now I am doing it via POA. I hate to bully into his life, but it is necessary for the continuity of management of his life.

His primary residence was exempt from being used as an asset for getting him eligible for Medicaid but now that he has died his condo is an asset. So NC wants their money back.

Thinking about buying this.

Definitely get a lawyer on this -- in CA, there are some rights that allow for residences to get passed to heirs. Also, if someone took off with other assets, the state could go after them. The Medicaid/Medicare/Medi-Cal world is very specialized, but there are a number of loopholes. I can help you find a lawyer in NC if you want.

My votes on you doing the honors.

One of my biggest fears was seeing my former in-laws coming off a HNL flight. They lived in SFO and when I moved here I always made sure I checked the flight manifest. One night they were on it, along with my former SIL, and I hide underneath the check in counter at the gate area until the plane was empty. My co-workers thought I was nuts.

Had a steroid shot, on 4 medicines and hoping for a quick recovery.

I was to go caroling at a nursing home with BL JR tomorrow, but obviously am not. Can't be getting them sick.

We're having major drama with Plus1's grandmother and it looks like he's going to have to make a quick trip to ATL.

Feel better baglady and hope everything works out with Plus1 ATL trip. Hopefully, he won't have to keep going back.

2009 tally

Well, with no more flights planned for the year (althought that could always change), here's my stats:

Year to Date Elite Miles: 127,189
Year to Date Elite Points: 103
Lifetime Flight Miles: 771,019

That's the most EQM I've ever had (thanks to DEQM) and the least EQP I've had in a long time.

According to my flightmemory, my average flight distance this year (across all airlines) was only 690 miles. Since 2001, my average flight is 499 miles. Pathetic.

I really need to start doing some intl. trips here and there

You and me both. I've only flown to IAH and EWR this year. Now that's pathetic.

I know nothing about computers but it looks cute. The keyboard set up looks just like my machine and I like it. I hate the ones that have the little ball between the letters that you have to use. Plus the space under the keyboard is great for resting your hands on.
