Spookiest landing of my life. Made worse because I was listening to channel 9 while it happened. The localizer for the runway went haywire. Pilot had to kill autopilot and land by hand which isn't so bad, but the yank to the left that happened at the same time was unnerving since I was listening to it happen.

I need to see if I can get the audio archive from liveatc.net.

Does UA build fuel-surcharges into their fares?

I am pricing out the exact same itinerary on CO and .bomb and UA quotes me $82 in taxes/fees while CO is $200+

Maybe they should change that message to "Due to increased volume by BD whores, we're experiencing higher than normal pillaging and can not process your request".

Yikes! Glad everything is ok. I enjoy listening to CH9 but maybe not in that case...

frustrating. I want to check to see if my missing mileage SFO-DEN has credited yet. I sent the paperwork in two weeks ago. If it hasn't credited, I want to send an email to Joanna at diamond club.

The only positives about BD are:

1. Diamond Club
2. Biz and Y+ Products
3. Number One Lounge
4. Front-Line Staff (not the ICC)

It is regularly outclassed by dysfunctional state-owned, third-world carriers in nearly every other regard.

Yes and no. It wasn't quite clear just how FUBAR things were until I spoke with the pilot afterwards.

Indeed, though it gave me an opportunity to speak with the pilot and understand why there was a yank to the left towards the end of the approach. With my Asbergers-esque "familiarity" of a flight not knowing what happened probably would have bothered me more.

Of course KLAX is down on liveatc.net so no recording that I can find of the conversation. I'll just have to make it up when I produce the quotes for my blog. :p

That would have been unnerving to say the least. I once had a dip to the left on an HP aircraft landing in LAS where I thought we were going to catch a wing-tip - never want to experience that again.

Hola, Box.

Since when did they start calling surveys "Data Collection Instruments?"

Into LAX on 6R. We were out over the ocean, which is good or bad depending on perspective.
