I really don't know. NY/NJ regional I'm assuming. No it's not mentioned on the abortion of a Tournament Schedule. Talk about the most disorganized event I've ever seen. Half the people who signed up to be judges were not assigned anything, me included. No one was in charge and no one knew where to go, etc. The one friend who was go assigned to the Congress Tournament which he's never done. I watched that for a couple of hours. Judging forms were essentianlly blank w/ no criteria. Luckily the other judge had swipped the judging criteria from a previous event so they were saved. Ok the kids. What a bunch of anal retentive geeks. It's not because of the competition, I truely think they are that way. The PO was rubish. I felt stressed out when they spoke which generally was faster than Jackie Mason and they just seemed to be angry. There was one exception. He spoke much slower, calmly, clearly, confidently, composed, moved with purpose, good hand gesture, and didn't look like a slob. He'll do well in life.

I gave up and left but it took forever to get home because of subway (50 min from 116 to 34) and train construction.

The quickest way to get out of there? ;)

Not that Burger King is the best implementation of this, but Burger King bar debuts in Miami

On the good side:
Grandys - Is a good breakfast place compared to most. (I am sure you get that with your room though)

Asian/Chinese - about 16 years ago there was an asian/chinese place south of the university that was good. I believe it had an elephant out front.

Go to the casinos, they will have a little better selection and standards perhaps.

If you're like me, a dork for these kinds of things, this is a nice side trip if you have the time. It was about a half hour ride from downtown Shreveport, if I remember correctly.

As a debater in both college and high school, I have to say that the speed was the name of the game and clarity didnt always happen. Since I couldnt talk too fast I made sure I made since and my arguements were solid. PRGDiscoGal on the other hand had a mouth that could read a million miles per hour with the clairy of the FedEx speed reader from the 80s!!

It seems too many high scool tournament directors dont get their judges preped for what they will be doing. It is a shame as the student spend time and money to be there.

1. Immediately leave Shreveport and drive 53 miles west on IH-20 to Longview, Texas.
2. Upon arrival in Longview, proceed to 2227 S Mobberly Ave.
3. Park car.
4. Begin salivating at the smell.
5. Enjoy the reason you drove here (other than getting the hell out of Louisiana): Bodacious BBQ.
