If you can work teh Box into such field, then your endeavors would truly be worth said prize.:-:

May I share in the honor?

At best its a mixed bag here with some signs of life but not anything saying to me, "It can only get better from here". There is still some pain IMHO to be felt.

Agreed. Which is better than last year at this time when I looked for a light at the end of the tunnel and saw nothing but a giant .

Name on the award? Perhaps. Hands on any part of the ~$1.1 million? No.

Network effects gone bad? :p

Good morning folks -- I am feeling very smug today due to getting out a good portion of our cards last night.

A coworker pointed out that x-mas cards are bad for the environment, and I may need to use that line next year. Now that the cards are in the mail, I almost feel warmer...

Among the things I never thought I would say:

"My best stock pick for 2009 was a paper company".

Good to know. I don't know why I thought otherwise.

My official work in the DC office consisted of moving a switch from being plugged in directly to the wall to a UPS. Took me 30 seconds, and that included rooting around to find the key to the closet. I'm going to an aviation industry luncheon as "press" and then to the House Homeland Security hearing this afternoon, with my travel costs covered. :D :D

^^

AH, a man after my own heart!! I am going to be doing a business trip to CA in Feb. but will tag on the SFO GAYla the weekend before. While I may be paying out of my own packet for most expenses, at least they are business related!

Haven't seen this posted about the TSA manual yet (or just overlooked the post if it has).

ETA: My 13,000th post relates to the TSA? In the words of Cartman, "Lame."

Not disagreeing. But the fact that he's registered Republican kinda trumps things that might point in a different direction. And let's not forget history, he was appointed by Bush in 05.

The left is displeased with Bernanke at the moment because he is focusing on preventing inflation rather than boosting employment. He's an old-style moderate Republican (a group that is going the way of the dodo).

I work for a global company, too, but find the devalued USD to be an advantage, as a portion of deferred bonus is calculated in EUR. The rise in value of the EUR has offset the  in stock price that the deferred bonus is partially based on.

IANAE, but I was under the impression that the weak USD would, in theory, boost domestic production by making imports more expensive and counteracting our giant trade deficit. This may be counteracted by the PRC pegging their currency to the dollar and subsidizing our appetite for inexpensive manufactured goods.

Use (domestic) recycled paper, and point out how you are maintaining employment in the paper industry and at the postal service.

ETA my apologies for resurrecting the two topics at the top of the post.

Here's to hoping that the AA HNL madness will spread to the *A carriers...

Comparatively and ceteris paribus, yes. With the U.S. being both the largest importer and exporter on a per capita basis, one of the hidden concepts is that the exports are often agricultural, based upon knowledge-capital, or services - things that can't easily be "ramped up" quickly.

 ABC has an edited PDF of the unredacted doc that is uncredited. :td:

Yeah I wasn't the happiest about the prices I locked in at but wanted to make sure I made the trip. If she comes and doesnt want to be around the FTer groups she could hang with my aunt potentially.
