It's actually quite comfy. I went for a Mattress Firm store-brand pillowtop, and have been surprised at how pleased I am with it.

Quite the opposite, for me. After too long at home, I start to long for W, Le Meridien, or Westin Heavenly Beds. :D

Add a nice mattress(this is a pricey thing), some bamboo sheets, with change of Egyptian cotton sometimes, nice soft(not wool!) throw, and a comforter, you can be in business.

IMO, it's more than the bed that makes me want the hotels: it's usually nice dinners and drinks before bed, served breakfast, the maid service, etc. that make me miss hotels.

Shame that the restaurant turned out to have closed down, sbm12. It was phenomenal when I ate there in May.

In other news, I am officially unmarried! :D :D :D

Congratulations!!

I never do hotel dinners, I don't enjoy room service, in fact I hate it. I eat at some hotel restaurants, but I do NOT have it brought to my room. Seems anti social to me :D

Not big on room service either, unless I am working in the room and have lunch brought in.

 Where are you seeing the 2nd 333? All I see is LH426/427.

What fozz said. For some reason there were two the day I flew home. The US flight, US701, is also closely timed to the Lufty flight.

I like room service for breakfast so I can be fully ready to go when I walk out the door and also for late night meals if I have been traveling all day or made a long drive so that I don't have to go out again.

I'm rolling with a Queen Sized, but (surprisingly, given overall square footage) do have ample room for a King, or even California King.

Be wary of the california king, sheets are hard to find that fit right. Especially in midwestern US. Perhaps I should be asking for Texas Sheets?

I want the Hampton Bed. I found that setup to be more comfortable than the Heavenly Bed.

MBM3 Nov 11, 2009 9:16 am

OK, who here found a good lease on a 320?

I've really enjoyed some of the newer Marriott beds as well.

It depends. Certain airports have weird APD-type rules that kick in depending upon whether you depart from there. Sometimes creative open-jaws (via separate one-ways) within Europe can avoid some taxes.

I'm not exactly sure how it all gets calculated, but do know that it was significantly cheaper (by about 100 Pounds) when I booked my S. Africa trip as three separate one-ways, rather than as a roundtrip (and I milked extra stopovers from it).

I am going to try to book my US-UK via South America trip today. My ultimate destination is LHR, where taxes are outrageous.

ETA - is the 4000 mile penalty for connecting in Europe also divided in half when you do a one-way? Also, it is just a flat penalty for any connections, not 4000 miles per connection in Europe, correct?

As weird as it sounds, Congrats.
