Agreed. Cost versus function. That is always the question.

Can the 753 make the westbound transcon runs? For some reason I thought that they were limited on those routes. I do agree that having them on transcons makes a significant difference versus FLL hops in terms of judging the viability of the service.

I'm going to have to get much better at stalking the FAA's STC database to track this sort of stuff. There is a wealth of information in there.

RE: MX on the 753s, I understand that the slidey seats were a nightmare for CO to deal with. I'm sure that contributed to issues.

the 753 has plenty of range at full load for westbound transcon :)

Thank you for sending me to a page with Barney Frank's picture on it.

I did chuckle at myself that I cited PBS for that fact. It was what popped up on the googler first and I'm kinda busy this a.m. :D

I've had to keep that one quiet since she started spouting off about how she doesn't like Dunkin' anymore now that she has access to Timmy Ho's.:rolleyes:

On a Cliff Note's version of the economy, yes, that's correct. The devil is in the details though as to why we got in this little pickle. The term "dig up" comes to mind.

I'm not a defender of the Fed over the last decade at all, but there's some pretty strong indicators that the economy is finally moving in the right direction.

Full disclosure: I work for a global company and I've been whacked in the back of the head by the devalued USD myself.

I agree with Steph3n then, I wonder if CO will actually do such routings.

There already is at least one per day EWR-SFO.

As many Boxers know, I work in the capital markets arena (well, the legal end thereof anyway). At best its a mixed bag here with some signs of life but not anything saying to me, "It can only get better from here". There is still some pain IMHO to be felt. Without getting it too far afield, in a debtor nation, credit is like water, and the water must flow which heretofore was provided by the capital markets. Until the capital markets are restored, and/or some alternative form of liquidity of capital is found, it will be hard to go full speed ahead.

Yeah, I heard it has always been the non-critical systems but I have also heard that there are a couple exATA birds with gremlins. CLE has fits with them.

Good to know. I don't know why I thought otherwise.

My official work in the DC office consisted of moving a switch from being plugged in directly to the wall to a UPS. Took me 30 seconds, and that included rooting around to find the key to the closet. I'm going to an aviation industry luncheon as "press" and then to the House Homeland Security hearing this afternoon, with my travel costs covered. :D :D
