SPG properties in London are always pricey for me...I tend to go Hilton in London, where I can normally get a decent deal.

I now just go to London when my father goes over there 4-5 times a year on business. Free 4-5* hotels for me = as good as it gets. :-:

Nice. Our trip in 2009 was a freebie from Hyatt (we extended and paid for 5 nights hotel and used SPG FWN's). 200k AA miles run through account will get me lifetime Gold (1MM) during 2010. ^

I was silver for a short time, but did receive upgrades 2 times. However; this was a few years ago.

Lifetime status is a good thing...I'm about 600k away from it on Delta and hope to have it by the time I'm 30...

My last stay at a Marriott with Silver, I think I got a room in the basement in MCO. I am there again next week and am afraid...

I'm normally at Courtyards and Fairfields, so upgrades are a strange thing to me at MR properties.
