It might just be me, but I'm having serious FT-site stability problems. I'm going to try again later

Ignore those numbers; they are bogus.

Sounds like you work for airline revenue management ;)

Nope, but here are the best O&D I could find on short notice: 2007

1 Las Vegas LAS 32,560,340
2 Los Angeles LAX 31,169,270
3 Chicago O'Hare ORD 28,761,370
4 Orlando MCO 28,213,420
5 Atlanta ATL 26,175,350
6 Phoenix PHX 23,949,290
7 Denver DEN 22,692,280
8 New York LaGuardia LGA 21,938,740
9 Dallas/Fort Worth DFW 21,571,040
10 Boston BOS 20,675,030

My hunch seems correct; PHX is a huge O&D market. But, CM is probably right: better or worse, it would go to WN if US were to liquidate.

Notice that 1 & 4 were airline hubs and now they've been given away to the LCC's. US realized there was no $$ to be made at LAS. DL had the same understanding @ MCO. Heck, they keep cutting our planes from 767's to 757's and I've even seen some 88's on the MCO-ATL route. MCO-NYC can't support more than a few DL M88's each day.

Would love to see US go down. Who they merge with - don't particularly care.

I remember seeing youtube videos of 764's doing ATL-MCO. That was silly. No need to send a widebody on a ~ 1.5 hour flight.

Why? If there was the capacity demand to fill them (and they were always FILLED) it makes much better sense than parking them in the desert.

I flew the 764 on that route a couple of times and it was always oversold.

If a tree fell on an internet message board and no one replied, did it make a sound?

@:-)

Yep. If enough people are coming/going from/to one of world's largest concentrator hubs to see the Mouse, then the bigger the body, the better. Except in icurhere2's case: congrats on breaking the two buck mark, BTW.
