Welcome to teh Box, ADLFO!

You'll probably want to position with another airline... WN

The best 4 segment TampOn runs, as I have learned from ALCO, zigzag through Texas.

e.g. TPA-IAD-AUS/DFW/IAH/SAT-DEN-ONT

That's $180-$200 and a hotel stay the night before, though (too old to sleep in the airport before a MR). And I had one come up with DCA - we all know what that means - a bit ago. And another page bookmarked.

There are a fair number of options for the Tampon runs.

I've done:

TPA-IAD-JFK-SFO-ONT (no longer available)
TPA-ORD-SAN-SFO-ONT
TPA-IAD-SAN-SFO-ONT
TPA-IAD-LAX-SFO-ONT

There is the options of the TPA-IAD-AUS/DFW/IAH/SAT-DEN-ONT, but the legs out of IAD are all RJs of some variety and I personally prefer the west coast hops as it gets me one good long flight.

Heck, I'm 24 and feel too old to sleep in the airport before a MR. Plus, I'd rather get a PL room for $40 or so (even if it's pretty dumpy) than sleep at the airport.

Yeah, I am doing one from ONT-TPA-ONT in January because the positioning costs to ONT are about the same as TPA from NYC.

Good thing I've bookmarked this page.

The Doubletree at TPA is cheap. I think I paid $69 and I booked it on hilton.com.

You just wanted another 1,000 BD miles.

Even better...I don't mind paying something like that if it means I can earn points.

Though $43 on PL for the EWR Renaissance twice in the past month has been quite nice. I'll gladly save $100 over the AAA rate and forego the points if I can get it that cheap.

Ugh - $260 in staging flight costs (without hotel) from BNA.
