Showing 4% here and that was a surprise.

No recount in NJ. Corzine just backed out and he seems way too happy and relieved about it.

Wasn't this year's big bust brought to us by the federal government (not the state)?

Like Olton said, Christie started it when he was US attorney. He also had other convictions under his belt (Newark Mayor Sharpe James) as US attoreny. I hope that he's able to do something at the state level in conjunction, or in addition to, the efforts of the US attorney. :-:

I expect zero chance of that. He has way too many enemies in NJ politics because of his clean up of the corruption. He won't be able to accomplish much if anything because of all of those enemies because he ruined too many peoples corrupt scams.

Hmmm, the NJ Rebulicans seem way too unexcited about this. That's odd.

Corzine gave a great concession speech.

It appears Bloomberg won by 5%; much closer than expected. Good he spent that $35,000 per hour or he might have lost!

Bloomberg started advertising back in July. His commericals then were good. They talked about what he's done for the city. For the past month it has been anti-Thompson and all you saw was Thompson's face and never Bloomberg. That may have been the incorrect tactic.

In the pileocrap that comes in BL JR's backpack, I received several requests for money:
Pizza for literacy night (shouldn't we be reading, not eating?)
Show your teacher that you care - give a gift certificate to the book fair.
Book fair flyer showing some of the wonderful books
Another book fair flyer saying they take cash, check and credit

You could always send Jr. to school with a bag of dollar coins.

I only earn about 2,600 EQM this weekend - a trip to see my new nephew that only has one connection each way ...

You wouldn't have survived the New Orleans-Los Angeles 48 hour trip I did on the Sunset Limited a few years ago at all.

No bags - rolls or box but no bag.

I've been on longer trips than that! I have been all over this beautiful country on Amtrak which may be why I HATE it!

Political acceptance speeches are so .

"Starting tomorrow, we are going to turn Trenton upside down!" Yeah, sure...

^ Best way to handle all purchases.

For Halloween, one of our neighbors gave she and the girl she was trick or treating with a dollar coin in addition to candy. BL JR's friend just thought it was a quarter; BL JR's eyes got wide, she knew it was a dollar coin.
