At least you guys can vote for mayor.

Living on the void between Houston and Katy we don't get a say

My big thing is mass transit. Gotta tackle it sooner or later...and my guess is that sooner = less expensive.

But mayoral politics in IAH has been interesting. Our current mayor is a white guy named White and before that it was a brown guy named Brown. Only in TX.

That's also one of the best (if not the best) use of onepass miles.

3,000 OP points = one way in the northeast corridor. Quite a bargain especially when Amtrak wants $120+

The three leading candidates all seem the same to me. I felt tempted to not vote for any of them. I wish Richard Pryor ran as "none of the above.":D

The new city controller, could be named Green, if he wins. And, the new mayor could be Brown, if he wins.

In Houston I think the mass transit movement needs to focus first on more efficient and reliable bus transportation first and trains/light rail second. The city officials have shown their unwillingness to work towards the trains by abandoning the proposed I-10 train.

There are rumors in the local engineering scene that the 290/610 Transit Center will be turned into a train hub at some point in the future.

Ok, for you NE corridor train folks... Couple colleauges and I took the train from baltimore down to dc to meet another couple colleagues for dinner and drinks. Much fun and drink had by all. Now on the 10p from DC back to Baltimore, properly lubricated. This isn't so bad a way to travel after all. Almost as good as the trains in the UK. :)

^ The seats are wider on Amtrak too as the rail cars are about a 18 inches wider than the ones in the UK.

NJ will likely go to a recount. With so many mail-in-ballets the results are in question as the mail-in and absentee ballots only get counted in a recount.

I hope so. I'd like to think that he would do something to continue to clean up the corruption in the state.

Yea, that's the flip side. I read his "88" things to do and all of the 'fix government' ones wouldn't get out of the legislature.

Wasn't this year's big bust brought to us by the federal government (not the state)?

That investigation started when Christie was the big guy in charge of the federal investigation.
