12.6K with or w/o DEQM?

I have, or will have with the tickets I have already booked, 37,391 EQM's. So I could get away with a 6,305 mile flight + DEQM to reach Plat.

I'm afraid to ask this question in the UA forum, and wouldn't know where to start on the UA site. This little tale of self-entitlement gone mad is from the "First trip on UA" thread:

"...a GS member took away their boarding passes not knowing that they had actually paid for their premium class seats. The GS member demanded an upgrade and insulted the parents of the passenger."

My question is: just what exactly provides GS status on UA, and about how many of them are there?

Link?

Very cool. Is this basically people parading in costume???

Bascily. I wasn't around for when the costumes be come less and that's for both genders and of course the trannies. See the last photo for a tame version of what I missed.

There are no officially published facts about GS.

But, it requires a a lot of full-fare/paid C/F flying. Rumors have said at least 50k miles of full-fare flying. It used to be said that it was also market based, but this was disproved at the Freddie's last year.

The number of GS's is a few thousand from what I believe. Basically, it's the folks that give UA most of their money plus some "key" folks from various corporations.

My local Gannett paper got so bad that I required questions in writing after they refused to issue a retraction one too many times - with my former job, I only got contacted when something horrible occurred.

At 0/2, I wouldn't exactly be impressed either.

Interesting. I was beginning to get an image of Samuri Frequent Flyers (somewhat influenced by Belushi, yes), roaming the UA concourses with all others giving them homage and wide berth, snatching documents from the hands of lesser beings and lording over the serfs who run the airline. CEO's of F-125's (at least) routinely get that kind of perc, generally from all airlines with major presence in the corporate headquarters city.

No wonder I haven't noticed them. I get an SMS message about once every three months, and I don't use the browser much (though it was so awful that any improvement will be immediately apparent). I've been home, so I haven't used the alarm clock.

The BlackBerry I was just given at work a few months ago is an 8830; it is so 2007. But even on it, switching fonts makes a big difference.

Depending on what version you had, the browser improvements may be only very modest to quite extreme. If you were running the 4.5-4.6-ish version that came out last year around the same time as the Storm and Bold, the browser updates will be a nice improvement, but nothing earth shattering. If you were using an older 4.3 and earlier OS, then it will be an extreme improvement.

I wish RIM was going to release 5.0 for the 8830 but they're not going to because that device doesn't have the RAM to run it. It's a shame, because it really has some nice new features.

Yeah -- I guess I won't be getting him to fly CO to come out to EWR! I'm tired & really want to be on my way home -- but don't mind the company out here!;) Just plan to sleep on the flight home in the morning! :-:
