Mine auto-reset too. My hotel alarm clock did not however.

Why didn't you go for a later flight?

Rental car would have cost another $45 if we kept it past 9 am and the flights looked pretty full toward the end of the day. We also didnt realize we were running late until we showed up to the airport and couldnt check in.

I'm still confused - if the phone didn't automatically reset, one would be an hour early; if it had, one would be right on time.

Im not exactly sure what we did but we showed up at the airport at 6:25 for a 6:35 flight

That is one thing that has no benefit to me for sure.

Still haven't been on an overnight commercial cruise.

Last time I cruised was May of 2007. Cruise status is not like airline status. With cruising, you earn it for life based on number of departures taken or on number of nights embarked. I only have to requalify because I get mine through an industry sales knowledge program. Same thing with Cunard: I'm a Plat on Cunard and I've never set foot on one of their ships. I very much want to do a Crossing on Cunard, but I haven't been able to just yet.

All I have to say is not to knock it until you try it. You would get lots of enjoyment out of one of the more luxe brands, like Cunard or Seabourn or Crystal. The economics of cruising from a standpoint of value for services received are very hard to argue with.

If I had the background to hack that, I would. :D I just want to do it to say that I did it.

I'm not knocking - and notice I stressed "commercial".

So what benefits do you receive if you are not taking crusies? Does Princess mail you travel magazine subscriptions or is it just wallet candy? Wouldnt this be like having SPG Plat status but never stay at a SPG hotel so there is no real benefit?
