After the World Cup, I played soccer in teh autumn and baseball in the spring-- and was atrocious at both. :D

I went to 2 games in Boston to watch Argentina, and a few here at teh Meadowlands in 94, I think Ireland and Italy were in the group that played at Giants Stade, I can't remember the other 2 teams.

And in this year's AFL grand finals, Geelong beat out St. Kilda for yet another pennant championship.

Indeed.
I was under the impression that most of the 1934 and 1938 World Cup winning sides were naturalized Argentinians.

I watched a lot of the WC '06 games almost by accident, since they fit into my schedule so nicely - I was substitute teaching in NYC that month and would get home just in time for the first (live) game, followed by the taped one from earlier. Then I kind of forgot about it until summer 2008, when tjtenor4 and his friends (all soccer nuts) invited me to join their Euro betting pool. By sheer luck, I ended up cleaning them out :D ...and found in the process that I really enjoyed watching the game. That's continued throughout the subsequent seasons, though since I don't have cable (or free weekend mornings and a local bar) and ESPN360 lost the CL rights this year, I don't actually get to WATCH all that much, alas.

I am sore all over. I was able to remove the cabinets and counter off of one wall tonight and will work on the other side tomorrow. At this rate, I think I should be able to get the new floor in by Thursday.

I felt sorry for the guy: it was sports talk, and he wanted to talk about his sport. Only mistake he made was in latitude.

If you and I should be together in person somewhere I will have to make you a CD of all the Chris Russo impersonations I own. To hear that voice do foreign policy is really funny.

Can you do Chris Russo giving household tips a la Martha Stewart? I would pay to hear that.

No doubt. :-: I will watch if I know it's a big important match, like a World Cup final or something. Same principle applies for me to baseball. It doesn;t get good until this time of year.

Andres Escobar, right? I didn;t even look it up, so if I'm wrong, on me.
