If doing coach, take UA. They have the best seat-padding. I only do US in F, but Y looks a bit  (though still more comfy than CO's brick seats).

Thanks for the tip professor. The last time I flew UA on a transcon, I was op-upped (on their premium 757 JFK-SFO) because my itenerary showed me as being a US Silver (I hadn't been elite with us for 5 years). That was very ^

Plusyes. I'm hoping availability will reappear on YVR-SYD, but won't hold my breath. If availability opens up on NZ closer-in, I would probably switch to LAX/SFO/YVR-AKL to get down there.

On hold with C:rolleyes:.

Sounds like they commissioned Moby to do a remix of their hold music.

Am really hoping something opens up via AKL, as I'd like to add AKL-PER to the FlightMemory.

Then you'll hate this part. After I got my C seat, the two friends I was traveling with (both kettles) to go skiing in Tahoe started ribbing me about being a "travel nerd". The GA said, "Oh....are you two with him? Let me see your boarding passes". She op-upped them to C also.

They stopped making fun of me rather quickly :D

Two flights down, two to go on my ATL-IAD-ORD-SFO-LAX trek. Two excellent flights on UA so far.

Sat next to an Airbus sales guy on my IAD-ORD flight. He was headed for UA HQ for a meeting, and was chatting it up with the purser. He told her to watch the news Friday. Sounds like UA is close to a decision on an aircraft order, but that's about all he said.

My wife laughs at me and says I'm cute until she sits in F or we get upgraded to a suite, then she's all like http://rolleye.com/toothy.jpg and I'm all like http://rolleye.com/smug.gif. Then it's time for http://rolleye.com/cheers.gif.

UA will be making a large order of A340-200s and A340-500s to deploy on routes like DFW-DEN, previously served by the 737s. :-:

Do they really need new aircraft?

In the content (along with oligopoly and cartels) but not reflected in the exercises - my goal is to take people with associate degrees and get them through enough business content to be able to function in an organization (Managerial Economics).
