My LAX-IAD flight tomorrow looks like it could be a prime VDB opportunity.

I don't mind either, although that's not my favorite of their soups.

You don't want to know how much morel mushroom soup I had during the HQ tour.

16 F on a DC-9 can easily go out with empties; 22 F on a 752 is a challenge on MEM-DTW and MSP-ATL.

The trunk routes between NW hubs have always been an issue for upgrades for me, though just about every other route has been golden. NW certainly had its worts but I will miss those 16 F seat aircraft and the virtually guaranteed upgrades.

FYI - if I disappear suddenly, that's due to my 24 hour code expiring ... I recall purchasing after lunch but don't know if it will get me to boarding.

Wireless is $10 a day here. I'm looking up the Blackberry rates again because they were shocking.

I've been told that it is possible to have one account assigned to a PNR for purposes of status and another for purposes of credit. But I have never tried.

Thanks! ^ If that is possible, then I'd be thrilled. I'd love to be able to take advantage of 1K status on UA next year, but credit the miles to CO. I'll have to investigate how this works…

For those who carry a Blackberry:

Setar (the company in AUA) charges 379 AFL a month for 1,320 minutes and Blackberry access. That's currently about $216.57 a month

I all of my years of flying I have only had the opportunity a couple times and it either did not happen or I simply had to get to my destination.

My sister and brother-in-law have one of my fav stories. They were taking a getaway to CDG and took a bump until the next day, enjoying a free night in Manhattan and a huge chunk of CO credit for future flights. Even better, they took another bump the next day to a later flight. I think they walked away with $2000+ all-in and ended up taking several fun trips later that year.

Here's my all-time favorite quote about NW PE's.

I've got to call T-Mobile about my BlackBerry with the busted speaker. Funny thing is that the speaker did work the other night — for one text message. It played the notification sound, but then stopped working again after that one time.

As for Sprint, I honestly think you're the first person I've heard say they were a fan of them. Seems like my friends and family that have them mostly just b!tch and moan about them nonstop.

I have a pre by monday for $0, touchstone for $40. I am happppy :)

I love sprint, they treat me right most of the time, was just getting a bit annoyed with this, and their service is the best in the US, bar none.

People like verizon, but have no clue how good sprint is, verizon towers work where sprint doesn't, but verizon does NOt buy from sprint where they don't work. So i have sprint here at home, and msot of national, but I go up to NH or Maine where sprint is weak, I have full signal on verizon.

People come out here from IAH/DFW area and have verizon and have ZERO service, some of the college students and familes get pissed about that.

Only other option here now is AT&T or 1 bar on TMobile....

+1

I am a big fan of soups in general, but that still tops my list. You can tell that they use fresh shrooms instead of canned.

I can do that...in feet :o.

I remember reading that NYPD study from however many years ago that ran the numbers on 20-some-odd years of officer-involved shootings, and after looking at kills, disabling shots, misses, and distances involved that study basically concluded that if you are a money handgun operator from 0-7 yards, the percentages regarding survival are on your side by a pretty good margin.

I have. It's a pretty fun read due to the aerogeekiness of it.

Did you start the 777 book yet? I'm curious for your take on it.

I can deal with mainline Y so long as it's not a 734. What I want to know is why they bought the planes if the numbers told them that they needed to do 30". Every other type in their fleet is 31" or 32".

That's something I want to fix among others. I used to be a true Weaver-style, palm on the butt shooter, as taught by the USAF. I want to transition away from that and a little instruction might go a long way. I can deal with a bullet going a little bit low so long as it's still in center mass. That's why you keep pulling the trigger until the threat is eliminated. I also want to change my rifle technique to gripping the magwell instead of the handguard for anything but the prone position.

Even though TMo uses AT&T's network, I tend to get more bars on the ancient Blackberry that my colleagues do on newer phones.
