About 95% of the time, when I'm on an overbooked flight, I can't take the bump because the alternate choices won't get me where I need to be by when I need to be there. It usually happens to me on an outbound flight for work, and since I tend to not leave until late Monday afternoon or Monday evening, that limits the number of rebooking options that would still have me where I need to be by around 8:30 AM local time Tuesday morning. The other situation I've run into are overbooked flights where I'm already upgraded, and the alternate flight is full in F and the exit rows. I will not take a bump in that situation.

But every once in a while it happens on my return flight, and the rebooking options are decent enough to still get me home Friday at a reasonable hour. In this situation, it's a 7:45 AM flight, and I'm just going home. There could be many other options that would work, and it's early enough in the day that a delay of a couple of hours probably wouldn't be a big deal. So, we'll see what happens.

Did you start the 777 book yet? I'm curious for your take on it.

Not yet, but it will probably be next on the list. I'm currently finishing "The New Gold Standard" which has been quite interesting so far.

Here tmo doesn't use the ATT towers, because they have a native, it is just WEAK. They put it in for a govt contract, and did not expand it further.

I had tmo for a year, it was good customer service, but crappy signal :)

I think qualifying for the HCP was 3, 8, and 15 yards with at least 75% on target. At the range, I focused on putting two shots on target as quickly as possible (and sometimes shoot with officers for some nice tips).

The first 20 pages are really good especially after seeing the trailer's to the film. It will be my "subway" book so will likely take me about a month to finish it but I'd be happy to pass it along to any one of you.

Yes. I thought it totally sucked.

I love sprint, they treat me right most of the time, was just getting a bit annoyed with this, and their service is the best in the US, bar none.

People like verizon, but have no clue how good sprint is, verizon towers work where sprint doesn't, but verizon does NOt buy from sprint where they don't work. So i have sprint here at home, and msot of national, but I go up to NH or Maine where sprint is weak, I have full signal on verizon.

People come out here from IAH/DFW area and have verizon and have ZERO service, some of the college students and familes get pissed about that.

Only other option here now is AT&T or 1 bar on TMobile....

I'm not a Verizon fan. I've not been impressed with the device I have for work from them, and sadly I've found that the 3G CDMA data on my Verizon BlackBerry is only marginally faster than the non-3G EDGE data on my T-Mobile BlackBerry. Now, the be fair, the Verizon device is ancient (by my standards, but not nearly the antique that icurhere2 carries around ;)), and is dealing with a tiny amount of memory and a pretty slow processor. My T-Mobile BlackBerry is brand new, and has more memory and a faster processor than the average PC had less than 10 years ago. That does make a difference, as the data is rendered to the browser much faster once it hits the device. But overall, I haven't been blown away with Verizon.

I didn't have to worry about UGs clearing today - booked the trip to AUA with miles (and no desire to sit more than 4 hours in a plane in Y).

Those planes weren't originally equipped with 30" pitch. Many of them weren't even ordered by US; they were Piedmont planes that US inherited. Back then they had fewer seats in Y and better pitch. It's been in the last decade that the pitch in both Y and F was reduced to ridiculously low levels so that more seats could be crammed into the plane.

My sister and brother-in-law have one of my fav stories. They were taking a getaway to CDG and took a bump until the next day, enjoying a free night in Manhattan and a huge chunk of CO credit for future flights. Even better, they took another bump the next day to a later flight. I think they walked away with $2000+ all-in and ended up taking several fun trips later that year.

Ive heard that flights leaving Europe offer cash, not CO currency. Im happy with either but havent been so lucky with my 2 TATL trips.

Those ancient radiation sticks will do that.

I primarily just like being off contract - if a nice phone came up for the right price on eBay (or brother-in-law), I might switch. There's just no desire to force myself to tie-up with a company for 1 (harder to do now) or 2 years simply to get a new phone.

The 3 and 8 shoots would be good enough to make up for my awful showing at 15. I'm no good after about 11.

You live in a place where the cops are understanding of the public wanting to defend themselves, and therefore good help is much easier to come by. Most of the cops I have ever dealt with around here shoot twice a year to qualify and that's it. Add to that the distrust that the People's Republik of New Joisey has of responsible gun owners, and good help is indeed hard to find.
