As for the E jetways, believe it or not I'm pretty sure they can accommodate ERJs. When E was first being built, CO stated that the terminal could accommodate ERJs. I think they don't even use those gates for ERJs because CO needs them more for mainline flights, and CO also is obligated to the HAS to operate a certain number of flights out of Terminal D. One of the selling points of the ERJ has always been that it can use a standard jetway, and the jetways that the ERJs use at D were originally installed for mainline widebody aircraft. Some of the IAH B jetways were also used way back before Terminal D was built for the European airlines — and today those same old jetways are servicing ERJs. |
