The routing looks legit. I am betting that the problem is that MBM3 is mixing KE and non-KE flights in a single reward. There are issues with that, I believe. I know that if KE is used TPAC it is a different series and I'm pretty sure that only KE can be used in Asia on those flights. I'm betting that he's running into something similar here where the fact that it is CO flights over precludes using KE in Asia. If he went KE TPAC in one direction I bet that the other KE flights would tag on to that half the reward and he'd be OK.

Is it bad that I spent a good 5mins trying to remember if I had actualy had bacon ice cream and said that? I was like "I would use the word 'meh' and the syntax is plausible..."

Ah, so I'm not alone -- some mailing list seems to think that I am Latino (offering me credit cards in Spanish and the Spanish-language tier on DirectTV), despite my (wholly unearned) Irish last name. (The closest my family came to Ireland was waving at it from the boat from Hamburg.) I guess someone heard of Bernardo O'Higgins and tried to apply this analogy to their mailing list.
