Good evening, box.

Sitting out on the deck with a couple friends and several bottles of red wine, watching the sunset over the mountains here in Denver.

Can life get any better? Yeah... I could be flying somewhere. ;)

In other news, aircraft for sale on both AMv2.0 and AMThirdWorld.

Agreed; my wife and I are enjoying the crap out of living in Austin though. And we did have dinner at Lum's in Junction on your recommendation. It was a dining highlight of the trip. :)

But it is late now and today was spent completing a lot of the unpacking we had left. Tomorrow is rest day. Night, Box.

I'm Back!

Hey Box, first post in here in a while. In fact, my first time on FT since May 29. Things are fine; I've had a couple of messages from a few of you inquiring about my well-being, but all is well. For the last two weeks, my partner and I have been on the road — we flew to Las Vegas two weeks ago today, spent several days there, then hit the road to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Jackson Hole, Kalispell, and Glacier National Park. We flew home today from Kalispell, MT (on DL's seasonal nonstop FCA-ATL flight which was surprisingly full), and after drinks with a Twitter friend of my partner's (@skydiver if you're on Twitter) at one of the ATL CRCs, driving home, unpacking, and Chinese delivery dinner, I'm settling down for catching up on FT, starting with The Box.

And expect to see plenty of pics soon from the trip — I have some amazing shots of scenery and wildlife. Oh, and if you're curious, our total rental car mileage over the last 14 days — 2,965.

How many hours do you expect to spend putting those in service?

Welcome back!! The itinerary sounds like a great one and (loosely) one that we've talked about doing. Very nice.

And averaging >3 hours per day driving over 14 days is pretty insane. We only got up to ~1000 miles in 8 days of driving on the South Island in New Zealand.

Thanks! I'll try not to be offline for so long again. But it did feel good to really disconnect.

Driving on roads in the western US and in New Zealand are a completely different animal.

We have put on as much as 2200 miles in ten days in Alaska but have decided that on our next trip to NZ in December, we will avoid extended battles with those slow and difficult roads and ride the AirNZ Link puddle jumpers which seem to go everywhere at very frequent intervals.

And it is good to see ssullivan back connected.

Thanks!

It may take a week or so for me to get them online. I took thousands — literally, thousands — of them. I plan on loading them all on my laptop computer and probably working on them all during Monday's ATL-IAD-LAX flying, as well as during the evening next week while in LA for work.

Calling it a night Box.
