That $484 LAX-GIG trip is tempting me. I need to visit a buddy in LAX anyways and it seems like Rio wouldn't be so bad as a side trip for a day.

I haven't checked, but I assume it is a straight IAH routing only, right?

Interesting factoid from the WSJ:

3 scenarios may play out:
  • They recognize both are severely undervalued and maintain the operations and then sell them off in a stronger market and pocket the difference.
  • They're creating a new airline (just what the  ordered).
  • They are bat $h!t crazy.

Popcorn, table 1. :D

Midwest is just a name now they just have capacity purchase agreements.

The center of the Festering Pit used to be a ghost-town in the 80's. No one would be caught dead Downtown after 05:00pm.

YES, the exception of the theater district.

It is WAY hot here today in Fort Worth. So hot, in fact, that I'm going to look for some cold beer.

BBIAB.

Heh, I had to do a double take. A buddy of mine whom I got into ham radio with is N5DUX (vanity).

$521.98 - does that include inspections? I hate how TX only allows 6 characters for license plates. Even w/ the new plates coming out, they will only allow 6 characters for personalized plates, yet the general plates will be 7 characters.:td:

It does; the inspections were $28.75 for her car and $29.75 for my truck. The rest was TxDOT.

Mackieman, did you get the newly issued license plate design?

I don't know if I get the new design or not. The generic plates we were handed prior to filling out the personalized plate paperwork were the standard issue that Texas has been using for years. If I remember I will update once the plates come in about two weeks from now.

We also went and got drivers licenses today. Luckily my old Texas license was still active so I simply renewed it and I get to keep the old number. Apparently there is a huge backup since they changed to the new license design so it will take eight weeks to get the hard copies. Sounds almost like something California would do.
