Did you do the slickdeals.net deal where you get a large and cinnistix for ~$10?

sounds like a good deal but I wasn't in the mood for something sweet tonight......plus the company's paying. :D

I would have gone out for some choice Portsmouth,NH seafood but I'm too tired after realizing I forgot to pack underwear  and having to hit a WalMart for 'supplies'. That explains why, as a boxer, my posts tonight are so brief.....get it?!?! :p

They last two times I was in Term A was well after 9pm, so they were closed.

I have been flying out of DFW/AUS to much the last two months to hit A much, and with the new bus situation if the only connection I can get is a close one I willl be doing that even more....

Sigh. My dreams of adding IAH-SHV to Le VolMemoire are dashed yet again. CO Weekly Special only good for Saturday flight leaving at 08:00pm

I foresee a long drive in a Buick Lucerne in my future

Forget the Lucerne. National has had some great non-GM cars at IAH lately. Last time I was there the Executive Aisle had several low mileage, fully loaded Kia Amantis. I've avoided the big Kia in the past, but a few weeks ago we picked one up in Vegas, and it's far nicer than any Buick, with incredibly comfortable seats, great AC, a great stereo, and a ridiculous amount of horsepower. Sure, people will assume you're about 70 when they see you on the highway driving that, but they'll think the same when they see you in the run of the mill rented Lucerne/Impala barfmobile. The difference? In the big GMs, they'll be flying past you. In the big Kia, you'll be leaving everyone behind in your dust, cruising along at around 90 MPH, in a car that feels as stable at that speed as it does at 40 MPH.

I really wish I had put the "idiot" clause in my contract with my client. It turns out that sending an email to ~8,000 people from your regular work email account is a bad idea. It is even worse when you only have a DSL line for your internet connection. And it is much, much, much worse when the email is a megabyte in size. I just had to remove ~4GB of data from the mail queue to get the server back online.

That alone isn't all that ridiculous. The really stupid part is that ~950K of the megabyte is a single image embedded in the email. Oh, and all the HTML links are to a local file server rather than the website so they aren't going to work on the off chance a recipient does bother to click on one of them. Morons.

Sure, why not? I'll be in Houston around 7:00 PM Monday. Leaving Thursday immediately after work. Will be in Huntsville but quite happy to make the quick drive down 45 on Tuesday or Wednesday night. Anyone else up for it?

Mackieman, did you get the newly issued license plate design?

Gag. Still hate that new plate design. Much preferred the old one, or several of the other choices they had when we voted a couple of years ago. Brush Script? Please. Looks like it was designed by a 7th grade art class.

It might have been the same designer of the current US Passport gone nuts.

I'm slowly trying to outdo ssullivan's tour of Texas airports. Just nailed down GGG last weekend. I ought to be able to score TYR, TXK and VCT in the near future. It's like an Amazing Race... to Redneckistan.

I've been to VCT. It was my sole MR. IAH-VCT when I needed 200 miles to hit Plat a few years back. There was one other PAX doing a MR to hit her silver so we sat & and chatted for an hour or so before we went back to the Festering Pit.

The old plate (the one that's still on my car… I've been bad about getting it re-registered in Georgia) was far more reprsentative of the diversity of the state, featuring images of cities, the star-filled West Texas sky, a cowboy, and even a space shuttle. The new one, based on a West Texas sunset, represents only one aspect of the state, and was one of the least attractive choices.

Why do hotel lounges always seem to have the TV on Fox News or ESPN?

Back in the old days of $25 EFD/HOU-IAH one way fares, I knew someone who achieved Bronze Elite for around $1,000 + tax and a few weekends of spending the day doing those hops back and forth across Houston. This individual then proceeded to barely travel over the next year, putting all that to waste.

Oh crap. :D I live there and didn't even realize a new one was coming out. Looks like I have to keep the auto for a bit.

There's a lot of value in that.
