I do a one-way from ATL-PEK and another one-way from MNL-PEK and assign the routes to the same tail number. The game isn't smart enough to know that the plane is not in MNL, so it perceives the two one-ways as a complete thru-flight. I have almost a dozen of these now...once I figured out how to do it it came real easy; it just takes some time on the Research Route screen and some partner hubs that are in the right places geographically. You can also do two one-way flights per aircraft as long as one of the airports involved is the same for both flights. It's a CO-style triangle routing without the short leg in between the two long ones. Example out of my route network is ATL-FCO-YYZ. That way, you command the price premium of a one-way flight vs. a roundtrip, and you hit an extra city out of the deal.

This is also an excellent strategy to get more usage out of your TATL fleet. With a hub in Europe, you can fly from an east coast hub to all European destinations, and then from those European locales to your European hub on the same flight. CO does the reverse of that with their 752 fleet.

I've heard of the two authors you mention but never read anything by them. I much prefer single books that go deeply into one event, and I have a penchant for those that spawn movies, as the books are invariably better. Charlie Wilson, Black Hawk Down, and Bat 21 are all excellent examples of such. Black Hawk Down was an excellent story that unfortunately maligned some (but not many) of the facts for dramatic license. Jerry Bruckheimer admits as much in some of the DVD extras. I have not seen Charlie Wilson or Bat 21 but would like to. I'm even a fan of fictional military writing that is well-done and creates movies. Flight of the Intruder was fiction, but the book and movie are both quite good.

I enjoyed Bat 21 as a movie, and did not know it was a book. I'll have to look into that.

Le sigh..

Expired dairy products, yet another perk of flying UA.

Wonder how much compensation you'll get for that?

You got upgraded to a suite at a Marriott? That never happens!

My 734 fleet could not be edited...I ended up dropping a route that I want to bring back. But yeah, the 734 fleet has a bug of some kind.

Anyone else notice that the 734 was severely edited too? The type that we started the game with is not available anymore, much to my chagrin.

No kidding! The planes ares back, but range went to 3680 down to 2256! And I think number of seats went down to. Now, it's 149, down from 188.

And the 733s have been changed too. Range is now 3,090. Meaning most TATL routes won't be possible anymore. And seats went from 149, I think, to 134.

That's a pretty big nerf.

My new airline is set up and ready to go! I'm already liking the economics of the ATR-42-320.

I cannot see it because this client blocks youtube, but I do love the technology behind their site. I'm a big fan and quite happy to pay them a bit each year to host my photo collection.

Same here. It may not be the market leader, but SmugMug really does offer a lot, and is a far more attractive, and easier to navigate, site than things like the ever-popular Flickr.

I know — I Googled the thing and can't find any info on it. But I have ordered it for a few short-haul routes out of RDU.

Anyone have any clue of what routing on TED between TPA-CMH rt would equal 2,822 miles? I know it involved ORD and one of the DC-area airports but I can't come up with the right total of miles to fill in the blanks for my flight memory.

rkkwan May 20, 2009 12:23 am

In the AM Third World, RK Red is pleased to announce its first foreign hub, and 4th overall, at SXF in East Berlin. 10 routes will be offered immediately, including a hop over the Berlin Wall to TXL. ;)

Hahaha... This single F28-2000 is pulling in >600,000 of daily "profit"!

Nope, not DEN. I know i went from TPA to CMH because i always used to fly between the two to see an ex. I pricelined it and i got lucky and it gave me united miles too - so i have the number of miles in my UA account. The miles are listed as expired and i cant pull up the flight info.

I know i stopped in ORD because i remember going through the tunnel.

Steph3n May 20, 2009 12:59 am

:( 12 airlines in NA on AM2.0

I am thinking to move.....its so crowded! but I will dominate all :D

Further, i had to have gone through BWI because i rode one of those dumb air-lounge tank things.

Any ideas of my route?
