A happy photo thing from last night's trip to Citi Field. I noticed two of my photos next to each other on Flikr looked like they could stitch together. They stitched together pretty well and formed a photo showing a good chunk of the stadium and the field.

imagining DL's thoughts at the moment

I guarantee you there are a lot of corporate strategy folks sitting in board rooms across the country staring at their computer monitors with a slack-jawed expression and glazed eyes in complete disbelief and nervous trepidation as to what lies ahead.

The industry is so fragile (must be Italian!) a rogue carrier could decimate several big boys with a year of shenanigaii.

I just changed my itinerary for next week from DCA-ATL-ICN (overnight) - KUL to DCA-ATL-ICN-KUL all in one shot. That will be 24 hours of flying (in J) plus five hours of layover. There are 2.5 hours between the DL flight to ICN and the KE flight to KUL. I hope it works.

Should be fine. The DL Herringbone seats are nice for sleeping (though I only passed out briefly in them on JFK-ATL, they were good). If I were you, I would definitely bring along some saline solution nasal spray. Your sinuses will likely be drier than the Gobi by the time you get to KUL.

Stay tuned for further updates.

Is DL flying the 77L to ICN? All of the seat maps I have seen indicate that they use a 772.

It has only been open for 2 weeks now. ;)

The official opening would not have stopped me. I worked with someone who had a connection with the railroad that owns the track. He said he can get me access, but I never found the time to go check it out.

Yes. They used to fly the 772 but it changed a few months ago.

I'm looking forward to my ICN-ATL flight in August.

Yes, I will be doing so, plus staying as hydrated as possible. Because the ICN-KUL flight does not arrive until 10:20 pm and I am flying to bumblef..k Indonesia from KUL at 7:30 am on Friday, I figured that it was better to get the longhaul flying out of the way in one sitting rather than overnighting in ICN and being too tired to do anything, then flying to KUL, going to a hotel for about four hours of sleep, then heading back to the airport at 5:30 am for the 7:30 flight. At least I can sleep in and enjoy a full day in KUL, plus hotel hop for another free Starwood weekend night.

Yes, it is still the 77L, for now.

Is it just on certain dates? Our departure date shows a 77L while our return date shows a 772. I'd love a chance to check out their new seats.

Given the flight ends at the end of August, I think it's a safe bet.

Additionally, with the incident of one of the RR engines shutting off last year, i don't think they want to use the 772s on any of their ultra long hauls.

Five new routes, two new aircraft types (77L and 773 non-ER), four new airports, and two new carriers (Air Asia and Silk Air) on this trip. Possibly three new carriers if I end up flying MH.
