You cannot maintain a negative reaction to hiring Lemaire if you want your team to win hockey games.

If you want to be entertained, that may be another thing altogether. However, winning provides its own special sort of entertainment to the average non-discriminating fan, lots of whom actually buy tickets.

The real question is did you have a matching fanny pack? :p

Poop; I keep forgetting to record After the Catch.

That's what happened during the last really bad summer in the late 90s (which also coincided with the start of an El Nino)

 Please don't say that. It's depressing.

It really is a big truckload of bad here in Texas these days. Normally the constant 100+ days hit July, August. Considering they've been around since early June is troubling.

I've had to raise my home temp to 84 to avoid any nasty surprises on the electric bill. The fact that I sit in a 70 degree office each day makes that easier (and yes I wear a sweater there).

And yet.. all this is far better than having to shovel snow... :D

All this crab talk, we need a king crab DO.

I agree. I had a poor initial reaction and then realized the benefit of the hire.

Jacques has said that he has no intention of bringing boring trap-style hockey to Newark, but I'm not sure how much I can believe that.

I doubt I will be able to go back to sleep tonight. I had a series of naps today like my dog. :-:

All the weather sturm and drang around here from Houston makes our corner of South Florida look absolutely temperate. Today was a balmy 90 or so at our place, which is about as hot as it gets but we had a nice breeze off the Atlantic which means that as usual it was warmer inland.

The evening thunder and lightning brought no rain to us so I guess the stoms were also inland.

I like the small ones grilled, with all the tentacles sticking out at wild angles. Yummy.

I used to think 78 was the perfect temperature. Now 90 is not looking so bad..

Trap or no, Jacques will still be coaching a defensive style. We still don't know how he did it as a player always being back when necessary while still getting tons of assists on goals from guys like Cournoyer and Shutt.

There were times that he was like a ghost, making the offensive play at one end and being back to break up the rush that started from the rebound on that play.

He is just about the only truly great player who has been successful as a coach.

Back from wine club. Will have to hide some of the wine I bought. Am storing some at the club, so that will help. Yummy wines tonight.

BL JR has an extra if you'd like to be her date. I'm hoping her babysitter will be back from her summer trip to take her; otherwise the nanny is the back up. I'm the back back back up. I'll even pay for drinks ;)

I was hoping the best for her. She's still planning on moving to be near him. I don't have the heart to tell her it's a bad idea, but I think it's time she moved on to the next chapter of her life.

:D As much as BL JR loves her; I think she needs to find what's next. Why she wants to move back to Nebraska is beyond me!

I believe we have a ceiling fan in every room but the kitchen, which could really use it. Plus1, added to your TO DO list.

I would hope so.

There are a couple of chains of crab-cake places around here that make large crab cakes that are nearly all lump crab. That is our family's standard birthday dinner.

We have in the process of firming up our Loire Valley wine tour in the days before St Malo. We have one day of wineries in Vouvray and/or Montlouis along with a tour of a Cheateau de la Loire. There are five or six of us and the tour company says that the vehicle that they use will seat eight or nine.

I cannot be the only one in the box who doesn't "do" exoskeletons in my food choices.

As for squid - it has its place. I prefer octopus.
