Even the NASCAR tires are leased from Goodyear now ...

I drive an F-150 personally and enjoy it. Lots of room. I had one reserved at the DO IV but got purposely upgraded to the van to haul everyone around. I normally rent Premium sized cars since I don't exactly fit in a G6, so a truck is a great solution if/when I can find them.

Leased tires? Kinda like the Jeff Foxworthy joke about financing a tattoo: "Three more payments and this sumb*tch is MINE."

Yep - they cost close to $2,000 a set and a team cannot own the tires (ostensibly to keep costs down, keeps the "rich" teams from testing on real equipment constantly). The tires also have RFID chips. This has been the case for the last four seasons.

CO just sent me an e-mail for 4,000 bonus RDMs for booking a flight before the end of September. This would give me more RDMs on CO than the *A airline (UA) where I hold but won't renew elite status ...

F-150 would not have been the proper vehicle to show up at the client whose target audience drives Camry's at the low end and preferable BMW's or better. When I saw the trucks when we got to the garage they weren't extended cabs so there was no place for luggage and lap tops.

I do every day. You've seen those pics of my daughter I've posted, right? I want a job, not for me, but for her future. <sigh> I love taking care of her. It's a job that has one drawback - it doesn't reward me financially. Otherwise, I would do this job until she doesn't need me.

"They note the Atlanta-based airline has substituted Boeing-767 jets for Airbus-330s, offering inferior business-class seats."

Nice.

I never understood how that route lasted as long as it did.
