Fair enough. I'll shut my yap.

Do me a favor -- enjoy today. Live it up. Make the most of it.

I gotta figure out why my AVIS stuff isn't posting like it should. I like them as well.

Not personally. But I guess it'd be escaping death if one's on that EK A345 out of MEL.

Amen to that.

I like Avis as well - I've grown accustomed to promotions such as 5,100 miles for a two-day rental, 7,550 miles for a one-day rental, 10,049 miles for a one-day rental ...

I like AVIS as well, I have corp code + President's Club via PPlus, and together they save me several hundred a month, for personal and corporate rentals :) They are good about letting me quickly and easily change the card on file for a single rental.

I enjoy using Avis, but I can never find a decent rate when I'm looking for one. I suppose it could be part of the problem in the industry right now that has everyone raising their rates.

Rates in metro areas are up a lot, but I just reserved in GRK(my home airport, long story) and got it for $17 a day....I will have it a week.

Yeah, I have taken to looking at neighborhood locations for all of the rental companies. Rates at AUS are through the roof.

The boys at Upgrd snickered at the use of Thrifty. I haven't had a bad rental at Thrifty in the last three years, and while their program isn't the best (1 free rental per 16 rental days) they trend much cheaper than the rest and the cars aren't that bad at all.

Having said that, I would consider National given the majority of nice comments about them in Teh Box.

I was mostly pleased with my Avis experience at FLL this past trip, but to be fair part of that may simply be the rental facility being across the road from the terminal. :-:

I used National because of the free exec status I got from a OP promotion and the fact that some of the promo codes got me out of the under age fee. I no longer need the underage promo codes but really enjoy the exec isle and will keep renting with them as long as I maintain it (which shouldnt be hard as I do not own a car).

Unless you go with an  option, everything is across from the B6/CO terminal (4?) in FLL.

I used to be a slave to Avis due to corporate contracts () and as an "Avis First" I never once received an upgrade. Their cards and service were consistent and fine, but there was never any bones thrown my direction for my 20-30 rentals a year.
