That new consolidated rental terminal sure is purty. It looks a hell of a lot like the consolidated rental car center in SEA and is wonderfully user-friendly.

I have routinely had to turn down "upgrades" from Avis, though that was a couple years ago. I really just reserve the car that I want. I do not want you to "upgrade" me from a full size to an SUV in California or from the midsize to a full size in Florida.

I never understood how that route lasted as long as it did.

Never seen the car rental center in FLL. Oh wait... never had the need to. When family picks me up and hands me keys to their cars. No need for a GPS too. ;) However, considering the majority of south Florida roads go east/west and north/south, it's hard to get lost. TWA in south Florida. Terraces, Ways, and Avenues all run north and south, FYI.
We used to have family car access when we landed at FLL, but upon my grandfather's passing, my grandmother refuses to drive to FLL to pick anyone up. I've rented, flown separately from people to ensure a ride, and taken Tri-Rail. Whatever works. |

I was speaking more in terms of overall demand of PDX - FRA. I'm relatively ignorant when it comes to all things PDX, but I can't imagine there's that many businesses that would command utilization of those flights. |

F-150 would not have been the proper vehicle to show up at the client whose target audience drives Camry's at the low end and preferable BMW's or better. When I saw the trucks when we got to the garage they weren't extended cabs so there was no place for luggage and lap tops.

Mrs. Phudnik and I are spending two nights in Chicago in August. I have enough points from Starwood, Marriott, and Hyatt to cover the stays. We will probably stay on or near the Magnificient Mile. What would you recommend? Right now am considering the W Lakeshore or splurging on the Park Hyatt. When I am in Chicago on business, I usually stay at the Marriott or the Michigan Ave. Westin. I wouldn't really want to take Mrs. P to the Marriott; the Westin is OK enough.

Never knew that about the roads. Does that apply to certain counties or anything?

WWBD:
739 or 762 between EWR and IAH on an M fare (guaranteed EUA)? Here's the kicker, the connection and timing of the 739 is significantly more convenient. Oh, let me throw another wrinkle into this - or fly EWR - SFO on the late night flight (also on an M)? My final destination is SMF, so I'm not too keen on arriving at SFO at 1am and then driving 90 minutes... But it is non-stop. And in F. |

I'd take the 739 connection. Getting in that late and then driving would be horribly painful, especially if you are expected to be functional at all the following day. And the 762 isn't worth it really for the 4 hours on-board IMO.

yep, if you're already in F might as well make it as easy as possible.
I think the tie goes to Shipley. :-: I might drive out to SFO to snag the transcon on the way home when time isn't an issue. :D ETA: Nevermind. Flying into SMF is $200 more expensive and not all of the legs book into M. Looks like I'm going to pay SFOGate a visit. |

I have a week off work :-:
I went to the doctor today and I now know why I have been feeling so craptacular. I have nasty upper respiratory infection. The doctor said if I had waited another day I would need to be hospitalized . I am on a nice cocktail of medications and cough syrup that make me want to vomit when I ingest it. @:-) |
