awesome!^ I can certainly appreciate a good bargain find!:D
The AmEx comments got me thinking of my overall "expense" patterns, so I checked my largest "budget"/"expense" categories:

1. Retirement
2. Federal Government
3. Kroger
4. US Mint
5. Mortgage
6. Hyatt
7. Airfare
8. Employee contribution to benefits

I approve!^ Interesting that Kroger is in your top 3!

The deal was at Kroger - in TN, Dr. Pepper is considered a Coca-Cola product and is put on sale by Kroger with Coke products. The current sale is $1.29 per Coke 2 liter, 50 cents off each if you buy ten. Each Diet Dr. Pepper 2 liter also had a 55 cents off coupon affixed ...

Downpour rolled in quickly - not finishing the lawn today.

No change on my account and we only charge about 1/5 of our credit limit and pay it off every month if not earlier.

In Texas... Dr P being a Coke product....would make for riots. Texans like their Dr P, and it is NOT part of coke :D RC Cola is a Dr P product however, I like its diet better than diet coke. Of course I like basically anything better then diet coke.

Listing of soft drinks in my refrigerator:

Caffeine Free Coke
Caffeine Free Diet Coke
Diet Coke
Sprite Zero
Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper
Jones Soda (apple)
RC Cola

I'll drink pretty much anything that's not a Pepsi product.

I have Diet ginger Ale,
3x Diet Mountain Dew, Cherry Coke Zero, Kroger diet cola with lime(I like it better than diet coke!), and some Sobe LifeWater Fuji Apple, 6-8 of them, love them :)

Fuji Apple Pear lifewater was just brought to my attention the other day - it is in the fridge and I have yet to try it.

My first boxes of coins arrive tomorrow. I have to start a buying cycle on both cards...time to look at the calendar and my billing cycles.

Found some Fresca in the fridge as well.

I'm glad that I got on the dollar coin program early - I even gave them as change at my yard sale yesterday.

Yeah Mets.

Currently in the middle of a fight over a Bissel Little Green Clean Machine. I'm pretty sure I own it, as in I purchased it for the house after months of saying we needed one and not convincing anyone else to chip in. Others in the house contend that they made monetary contributions (why don't i remember that at all..?) and are willing to give their right arm before letting it go out the front door.

Ironic considering we only have one because I insisted on getting it.

I am starting the move. I got a confirmed cash buyer on Friday and they want to move in by August 5th. Luckily I have no travel plans for the coming weeks as it would make the move ever harder. The downside is I am in Stillwater through December so will have a temporary move then move once I find a job come January.

Property & Casualty (insurance) eligible. USAA has always employed a two tiered system whereby their products were marketed towards miliary affiliated individuals. You used to be able to request a member number for banking products before they closed that off a couple of years back. However if you were not military affiliated you could not get their insurance products. And for some inexplicable reason they've chosen not to allow Deposit@Home for non-P&C eligible accounts.

I've got a couple of credit union accounts, one of which allows for a similar system so I may end up moving some of my banking to them. Right now for USAA I have to mail my checks in which delays things somewhat.

I forget about the delay when mailing in checks. I actually found a work around on that. I find a local bank as a dummy bank to make deposits and use the USAA inter bank transfers to get the money to USAA and use there services for everything else. I was told once that part of the reason for the P&C requirement is that they use the insurance as a means to insure that the bank side of the company gets their money. I will also note that USAA has recently expanded their P&C admission requirements so if you didnt qualify before you might want to recheck. I was literally grandfathered in many years ago and glad I was. :)

Have any of you vacationed in GUM? If so, can you send me a PM and give me some tips for where to stay and what to do? Thanks!

Sounds like a great trip. Are you getting the Island Hopper out of HNL as well?

While in NRT I had a chance to have Fanta Apple and liked that very much. Dont think you can get that anywhere in the states though.

Not a good day to be David Weathers.

Anyway, I get St. Louis Cardinals games on radio here. At the beginning of the game Friday, the lead announcer made the following statement RE: Bronson Arroyo and Citi Field:

"This place is huge. If Arroyo can't pitch here, he can't pitch".

Nice to know your home radio broadcasting team has faith in your pitching capability.

I use them for just about everything financial, including our mortgage (except the IRA which I roll all of my old 401ks into -- that's TIAA-CREF -- though USAA is supposedly pretty good that way too). The bank is outstanding -- Deposit@Home up to $10k per day if you are eligible, refund up to $15 per month in ATM convenience fees, and deals with various banks not to charge you an ATM surcharge (in my area, it's PNC), great customer service. Since we were moving around a lot -- and now that I'm traveling -- these features are great.

The only problem is if you're not in SAT and need a local bank for some reason (I had to get some papers signed by a bank some years ago, but was able to use the local bank where my kids have UGMA accounts).

I'm pretty sure it used to be limited to current or former military officers, and was then extended to dependents of USAA members (which is how I got in, thanks to my father's time in the Air Force in the late '60s/early '70s), and now is open to current and former enlisted personnel.

I never was much of a apple drink fan, but this is good stuff, really crisp and refreshing, and $.89 each!

Hope you meant 89 cents or $0.89. Otherwise, I'll make up some drinks for you to purchase. ;)
