Probably. I haven't figured that out quite yet. Depends on the shift work on the Air Force gig, as it's a 24-hour shop.

Has anyone tried expedia.com's best rate guarantee? They are coming up $10 cheaper on a flight and - I can't lie - I wouldn't mind the $50 credit.

Yes, and one for the wife. I am going to go ahead and blow my status match and get Plat on DL next month.

I also booked a ticket JFK-ZRH Sept 18-20 only because they have this bonus and with my new Plat bonus that will bring things down to well below 1 cent per RDM.

Well if you do a NW status match you might not get the 10k bonus miles for the new route (see my previous post with link). You had to register for the bonus using your DL number. But with that bonus and a DL Plat bonus you would get ~26k miles off the trip.

The one variable is we don't know when the NW/DL programs will merge. It's possible they will be merged by then and it's not an issue.

I've jumped on the 9/18-9/20 JFK-ZRH fare for now. Going to sleep on it, so what is the total count of who is going?

When I first read this, even before i wandered into the box, i thought BCN for new years. I'm glad to see others had the same thought. :D

Mike Emrick sums it up eloquently, as usual: "It'll take seven." And the talking heads thought that Detroit would steamroll Pittsburgh this year.

MD-87 up for sale in AMv2, I am having trouble figuring out how to price it but whatever, it is there in deals.

Hartmann Jun 9, 2009 8:41 pm

Does CO have .com electronic support desk agents in EWR because I think I just got off of the phone with one.

I have a buy one get one free cert for anywhere in the lower 48. For some reason, CO.com can't pull up the rules attached to the cert so I decided to call. She asks what certificate I have, I explain "the buy one get one free one, the promo code is..." but before I could finish, "oh I don't need that, you're talking about the BF promotion where you have to buy a full fare BF fare to get the free one, you're better off just buying two tickets on the site". I then explained that no, this is the one for the lower 48.

She proceeds to ask me if I entered the promo code and PIN, "yes, I entered them but it gives me an error saying..." once again, before I finish, "oh, you must being doing something wrong". We walk through the process and she asks if there are restrictions on the promo, which there aren't besides the no travel on Sunday.

She tries it and says, "oh, there's an error for some reason, not sure what that means. What city pairs would you like sir?". "I'd like to look at IAH-PDX and AUS-PDX just in case one is significantly cheaper". "Sir, that's not how it works..."

"Yes, I know that's not how it works but I may need to be in AUS anyway, so I'd like to get prices for both".

Basically, she called me stupid for the seven minutes we were on the phone.

Expedia found the lower price on the confirmation step  Back to the airline's website.

Thanks for the invite, though I wasn't entirely serious. Lunch, I could have done. Would have been fun to meet you all in person and to obtain a booster shot of . I'll look for the  signal off in the distance.

We did have one moment of entertainment, when we heard a very loud outbust of Chinese. Father and son were having quite an argument in the boarding area. I had to ask them to stop. They did but not before the father wacked his son on his head. The father had to be in his 60s and the son was in his 30s.

Good night/morning Box.

Good thing you don't see that every day!

I was blowing off steam. I managed to p!ss off people on two continents and it was a day I hope not to repeat soon. Your situation sucks - and I'm sure it will turn around soon!

I'd like to avoid CZ. Their hard product looks fine, but I have heard their food is simply inedible. It will be interesting to see what ALCO has to say about their experience.

CZ's food is just fine. You'll be upfront, correct? I was CZ elite before them merging with our beautiful current alliance. Their lounges are rather

Yep, I saw that you just signed up. Just opening up my FT exposure, since I'm still new to FT! Problem is that I'm not feeling well today -- my son is sick w/what is a flu virus -- nooo, not the flu virus. So, I hope I'm not coming down w/what he's got!

Feel better (and your son too!) - at least in time for the Brooklyn Reality Tour. Get lots of rest - that can make all the differnce in world to get you better quickly.

Did she find the Biscoffs? I've seen them at Krogers in the area. Let me know if you don't.

It was pretty weird buying her a ticket in what will be her married name! :D

I hope she does a better job changing everything than I did. I realized I need to change my Northwelta account and have the letter done; just need to fax it. When I travelled on my old name, I would just show my passport (as it was only ammended at the back - believe that's changed) and use my DL or ammended passport for new name. I still have several credit cards to change and not sure what else. It's a lot of work to change a name.

Here's my bizarro story from tonight. I was going to the parking lot after leaving Target and as I was pushing my full cart, a large black crow is coming in for a landing and hits my head on the way down. I can still feel where the claw hit my scalp. I thought I was Tippi Hedron in the Birds. I was more than a little freaked out. At least there was no bird mess to clean up, but still . . .
