For anyone looking for some creative routings, I just found EWR-CVG-CDG-ZRH-JFK for $271.25 for 9/18-9/20.

Looks like you can fly in/out of EWR/LGA and get connections for the same price.

I booked the nonstop out of JFK. I will get a ton of  if I try that routing.

Does CO have .com electronic support desk agents in EWR because I think I just got off of the phone with one.

I have a buy one get one free cert for anywhere in the lower 48. For some reason, CO.com can't pull up the rules attached to the cert so I decided to call. She asks what certificate I have, I explain "the buy one get one free one, the promo code is..." but before I could finish, "oh I don't need that, you're talking about the BF promotion where you have to buy a full fare BF fare to get the free one, you're better off just buying two tickets on the site". I then explained that no, this is the one for the lower 48.

She proceeds to ask me if I entered the promo code and PIN, "yes, I entered them but it gives me an error saying..." once again, before I finish, "oh, you must being doing something wrong". We walk through the process and she asks if there are restrictions on the promo, which there aren't besides the no travel on Sunday.

She tries it and says, "oh, there's an error for some reason, not sure what that means. What city pairs would you like sir?". "I'd like to look at IAH-PDX and AUS-PDX just in case one is significantly cheaper". "Sir, that's not how it works..."

"Yes, I know that's not how it works but I may need to be in AUS anyway, so I'd like to get prices for both".

Basically, she called me stupid for the seven minutes we were on the phone.

Must be a transfer ;)

Plus1 is going to his daughter's grade school graduation next week; prices out of IAH were $1098; a mileage tix would have been 50,000. I found AUS at $158. IAH-AUS-IAH-LAX-IAH-AUS-IAH came in at just over $300. He'll overnight at AUS but still way better (and more miles).

Breaking news - Gov Rick Perry had a mountain biking accident (he's okay, will leave the hospital tonight) - do all Texas gov go mtn biking?

Here's my bizarro story from tonight. I was going to the parking lot after leaving Target and as I was pushing my full cart, a large black crow is coming in for a landing and hits my head on the way down. I can still feel where the claw hit my scalp. I thought I was Tippi Hedron in the Birds. I was more than a little freaked out. At least there was no bird mess to clean up, but still . . .

Was it a crow or one of these vermin?

If it was a Grackle you should start packing heat so you can wipe them from the face of the planet.

Don't bother with the one on Post Oak near the Galleria. Is was decidedly . There's much better Italian (both chain and non-chain) around here.

I regret to inform that the joke has been done before. belynch and rolov have a jokeshare agreement, but unfortunately none of the other Box regulars have been allowed to join their Haha Alliance.

I had to call CO twice today just to ensure that my fiancee had the option of switching from a Saturday early morning flight to a late Friday night flight under SDC rules. One agent told me that a 7:15am Saturday flight told me that she could not SDC to an 8:50pm Friday flight, but COULD SDC to a 4:25pm Friday departure. She was so insistent about this obvious breach of the workings of a clock that I was going to start dropping references from Back to the Future. I asked for a supervisor because of her obvious incompetence, only to be told that I didn't need a supervisor. For as much as I can't stand channa's attitude, I'm starting to see his point when it comes to phone agents.

It's going to take a while, but in time it will happen.

The first question for ZRH was: How many connections and how long is the travel time? (and it was verified online before I gave the answer )

Where's your sense of adventure?

DL.com is  at me. It won't let me book anymore trips. :(

I know that Grackles and Mockingbirds are really aggressive. I have seen Mockingbirds attack people in parking lots.
