Thanks for the offer. She's on her way here. Her original flight ended up being diverted to PHX due to a medical emergency. I guess there is always a reason why things happen the way they do. She now knows to never be a nice little non-rev and to turn on her phone between flights.

A friend of mine was on that flight. A pax went into diabetic shock, but apparently there was a doctor on board.

My boot, their butt. ^ I actually emailed someone in IAH to complain about how they treat their internal customers. I'm still angry about the whole thing. She did get on the next flight and got an aisle seat, with me telling her what to ask for, as I was talking to her on her cell phone.

Great to hear that she got on the next flight & didn't have to wait until the morning.

Oh, and to answer your question - outside of a major mistake F fare, I can't think a cushier same day run... :)

It would have to be a major F mistake fare, as the class of service bonus is only 50% ... Then again, NW was offering F to LAS cheaper than Y one week last year.

Adding a twist - do there appear to be any VDB opportunities? I have bumped myself out of confirmed F when there's essentially a certainty (negotiated or battlefield) of F on the next flight. Definitely need a good GA for that tactic to work, though.

I hope the passenger is ok.

+1 - adorable!

$$ I found a refundable Y fare AUS - ONT that is cheaper than the AUS - SAN refundable fare, and the F fare (in the A bucket) is only $72 more than Y, meaning that I can book the Y seat, get work to pay for it, and then refund it and book the F seat only costing me $72. Life is good. :D

Stuck in MIA now with a 1:4:eek: delay posted on the final segment of the trip. We're on standby to JFK but I'll have to go get our luggage at EWR tomorrow. Still, that's better than getting home at 2am, assuming the standby comes through.

We left the airport for a couple hours and drove over to Calle Ocho for good food and some outdoor time. With the car rental costs it may have been the most expensive cubano sandwich ever, but it was pretty tasty.

;)

I wish I was not cooped up in here, I am about to go out, realized just now that I don't have anything but a dirty shirt to wear back, the other one was left in rush to leave. Oh well.

Cleared onto the earlier JFK flight. As an added bonus, it is still operated with an AB6. I'm pretty sure that I got this type a few years back on a similar trip, but now I am certain of it. :D

The prosecutor in municipal court is not at all likely to ask for any of that kind of stuff. Just don't mention it or make an issue of it and you should be fine. I'm not sure what you'll have to mention when you ask to change the date of the court appearance, but you'll be talking with the clerk's office then.

They feel really spacious, although the IFE isn't anything of note - they fly MIA-PTY often.

2 weeks away

2 weeks away from the box and I'm not up for going back to read a few hundred pages. Anyone care to sumarize? :p

Looking forward to seeing y'all in my stomping grounds (Shogun). Next miniDO is going to have to be a get-together at one of my gigs....of course we'll have to add a couple Grateful Dead songs for xyzzy. In honor of deqm, I should get the band to learn "I can see for miles" from The Who :D
