Ranking of states by level of "exploitation of the motoring public" - speed traps, traffic court issues, etc.: http://www.motorists.org/rankings/

I am not surprised that my current home state, NJ, takes the cake - what DOES surprise me is that 4 out of the 6 states in which I have lived (NJ, OH, LA, NY) are in the top 5. Great.

I looked at the criteria used to generate the rankings. What exactly is, "Are there move-over laws in the state?" My guess is that's a "keep right except to pass" law. NJ has such a law but nobody seems to either follow or enforce it. That's one thing I wish they would enforce. The double fines/points for tickets in a 65mph zone are absurd, though.

+1, thats all I wear and they last forever or at least if they break you take them back and they get fixed for free. Do note that if you buy them in NJ when they have their summer sale you can get a pair for ~250 and NO TAX.

Made the first flight (fortunately the traffic was only in the tunnel and not once we got into NJ) and now int he 3rd world pit of despair that is AA's MIA C North terminal. Seriously depressing, though Mrs. sbm12 did raise a good point - "At least it has character unlike every other airport in the world." I guess I'll take whatever positives I can get.

Morning Box.

Despite yesterday's claim that I was taking today off and going to the beach, I'm in the office.

Cursed project going pear shape on me. Cursed rogue Germans not taking the bridge day off.:rolleyes:

The word of the day , by
the way: shennanigaii

Oh, and I'm a complete putz. I double booked myself with work trips during the first week in June. Am I in PHL or FLL? (I think I know which one will win!)

I can point her to quite a few airports with "character." I'd bet she doesn't really want to visit many of them, though.

I would interpret that as "move over (or slow down) when an emergency / road safety vehicle is on the side of the road". It's a very serious offense in the middle of the country - minimum $500 fine here in TN. IL and MO have more drastic ones - hit a road worker in IL, it's 14 years in jail.

I suspect that the complaint with this is that police will simply sit on the side of the road waiting for people to go past without slowing/moving?

I've seen it (not in my home city), although it doesn't seem to be endemic.

I'm shaking my fist at Sayreville PD.:mad:

I've also noticed a new fleet of unmarked Dodge Chargers patrolling the 287/Route 9 area. The first day I saw them there were 3 different cops that had pulled someone over.
