The best one that comes to mind is when I upped SFO-IAD-LAX for 1 500. Riddle me that. :D:D

I'm 1/12 on using 500s ORD-SFO and vice versa as a 2P this year (and the 1 I got I ended up losing due to irrops )

SFO-IAD-LAX for 1 e500? Not bad. ^ Even more impressive would be SFO-JFK-LAX upgrading to p.s. C.

I'm pretty sure titanium shouldn't set it off period. I've got a Skagen titanium watch ($60 @ Costco FTW!) and I never have to take it off at the airport, which is nice.

I have a titanium Casio (yeah, I know, why? :D), and it does trigger some metal detectors, usually moreso during Orange level status.

Perhaps it's got enough steel inside.

CZ seat had deeper recline and better padding than UA, IMO.

It looks better.

More accurately, OMNI/PR is bat-$*#@ crazy.

There's also a wobble effect - if I get too close to the magnetometer I set it off. If I walk straight through the center, I'm usually fine.

Okay, I posted an earlier update to this awesome trip, but it just got better, so I'm posting the whole shebang. Get this:

SAT-IAH - Paid CO
IAH-LAS-IAH - CO - Buy 1 get 1 free with a buddy for a bachelor party this weekend
IAH-DXB-DEL - EK in J with a 2 night stop in DXB
DEL-KTM-DEL - JetLite (ugh, but I gotta get there somehow. In KTM for a week
KTM-Llhasa on Air China (haha)
DEL-LHR-EWR in VS Upper class in 1 day (gotta love the late departure on VS) :)
EWR-MEM-SAT on NW (or DL...whatever) in F

All for 120k miles, the SAT-IAH route was about $65, IAH-LAS-IAH cost me about $180, and the DEL-KTM-DEL on JetLite was about $225. Not too shabby!!!! ^^

Well done! Sounds like it should be a phenomenal trip. The IAH-DXB flight is long enough that you should be able to get a good sleep and thoroughly enjoy EK J (ICE onboard the 77L is outstanding).

When did you book the DEL portion? If awhile ago, note DEL has a new airport tax now (a nice little surprise when you get to DEL for your departure). About $23 USD. Cost the both of us about $56 to transit that lovely airport. Luckily CX took credit cards.

CO sent me an email regarding it (a whole day before departure) but ultimately they forgot to charge us.

The India Luxury Tax comes up all the time in the premium deal MR thread.

If choosing an Italian destination in Winter (Early January)... VCE, FLR, or FCO? I've already been to FCO, but the Significant Otter has not. Neither of us has been to FLR or VCE.
