Surgery took 2 hours. The Doctor discover that the floating bone was actually broken in two pieces, lengthwise. Couldn't see on the x-ray because it was on the back side. One plate and 5-6 screws later, he's all fixed up. ^

We bought a ice pack machine. He has to keep his collarbone area chilled for 2 hours, every 2 hours for a few days.

Of course his sister took pictures of him while he was in recovery. Good for blackmail purposes. :D

Frozen bags of peas work incredibly well. Glad he's doing so well.

Or a FF ;)

So what's the answer....will he set off the metal detectors?? Are the plates/screws surgical grade steel or titanium?

Survey says yes. I was very happy when I had my plates/screws/pins removed to expedite security. I still have a small amount of metal left in my ankle and a tiny bit in my shoulder. Rarely, it sets off the detectors.

My boss called last night to let me know that the upper management put my name on a layoff list. He'll be fighting for me but it's time to dust off the ol' resume and find out what Austin has to offer. Sigh, I hate looking for a job.:rolleyes:

:( Here's to a better future, but it sucks!

+1, this economy sucks...

The wife was offered a job yesterday working at one of the most prominent private preschools in NYC. The tuition is around 55k per year. The classrooms have 15-18 kids, a head teacher (masters degree and certification required) and an assistant teacher (bachelors and certification required). She would also be teaching 2 classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Guess what the salary and benefits are for the assistant position........

29k/year
NO BENEFITS, not even health insurance.:td:

Who the hell is making all the money????

Shes going to accept and keep looking for a public school teaching job...

WOW! More tuition to pay less to teachers - somehow that doesn't work. :td:

I think I'll throw in the towel and try again in the morning assuming the fare is still published. :(

I had trouble with more then one connection, so I checked ITA for just one connection flights and picked them out on ua.com. It took about 3 times, but I got it for 5 days in Feb.

I told all of my friends about the IAH-HNL fare, if they chose to get in on it, good for them if not then it sucks for them.

I called a few friends and they were all  :confused::rolleyes:. "I can't just make a decision to go to HNL right now" and "Is that even cheap enough to be a deal":mad::mad::mad:

Feb 2, 2010 to feb 7, 2010 ;)

I just confirmed the 5th-7th. I'm returning via KOA, just for fun. :D

Assuming I actually decide to keep this when I wake up in the morning it'll be a mini-DO, or at least dinner.

And I'm still going to try to find a weekend to go when I can use my CR1s that expire November 9th.

I've given up telling my friends about deals. They always  at me and then regret it when I end up going on the trip.

I wish CO would match. I don't feel like connecting out of IAH.

Landing on the old lava flow at KOA is pretty cool.

My friends at least understand its really cheap and I know they at least looked on .bomb. I'm sure they are doing the "can't make a decision" thing too knowing them.

I've given up too but they gave me so much grief about my HNL trip (yes I gave them the heads up on it too) I told them about this one just for the "Don't say I never tell you about deals" crap.

For sure ^
I am waiting for final confirmation tomorrow from the s/o, but I think it looks good.

Here are our flights for now. There would be some serious  from the s/o if I added another segment to this.

Tue, MAR 2
UA635 EWR-ORD 6:00 AM - 7:15 AM (A319)
Layover in Chicago 3 hours, 0 minutes
UA001 ORD-HNL 10:15 AM - 3:02 PM (777)
------------------------------------------
Sun, MAR 7
UA74 HNL-SFO 1:35 PM - 8:21 PM (777)
Layover in San Francisco 1 hours, 54 minutes
UA56 SFO-EWR 10:15 PM - 6:36 AM+1(A320)

I am thinking connecting at ORD in March may be a mistake, so I might change it to SFO tomorrow morning, but the SFO flight gets in 2 hours later than the ORD flight. I guess I would rather get there 2 hours late then not get there at all.

Same Here. They are always sorry after I go and they don't/

That would be fantastic. If they match, I hope it's tomorrow morning ;)

I wish CO would match because I want 100% EQM and I'm confident I won't get that from a UA L fare.

icurhere2 Jun 24, 2009 9:55 pm

I told my friends about the $300 BNA-ZRH RT available a couple weeks ago AND the new route bonuses (I will earn 45,000 RDMs for the trip); not one of them acted ...

OPFlyer Jun 24, 2009 10:20 pm

Things are looking very good for a few bumps tomorrow. The major downside is giving up my F seat and a DirecTV equipped aircraft.

My partner has a bunch of FL credits that expire tomorrow, so he's put me in charge of booking us a weekend trip to use them up while he's still got enough for a free ticket. FL's website is being a pain to find something to use that ticket on, and it really sucks that I can't use the free ticket for an itinerary that includes a codeshare with F9.

I would guess 50% EQM and 100% RDM. I am sort of OK with that for the price I paid.

We will both be *Gold for this little HNL trip. I wonder if we can have E+.
