Maybe. The real question is how many elites are booked into Y on the flight right now, not how many are showing on the list.

Assuming KNRG didn't pay the baksheesh and that they are not either of the two listed there are even more seats that should not be for sale. I think that CO effed up this implementation pretty good . . . . But it has definitely not been implemented as initially advertised based on the evidence that flows into the forum daily.

+1

Hmmm, time to say Shenanigans?

not sure as of yet, one looks non rev, the other I am still  why it would not be processed as EUA yet.

I agree it's been a poor implementation and communication about the policy has been way less than stellar. Looking at the flight (#1087 tomorrow), it's now booked 20 out of 24. Since it's never been confirmed/denied, we could guess that those two extra people are paid upgrades.

Tomorrow around 5:00am we'll know what happened, as everyone should have checked-in by then.

The other person on the upgrade standby list could be a full Y fare too, which means they wouldn't get the upgrade until tomorrow, correct?

you mean full Y non elite. Elite full Y should already be seated up front.

I don't think so. I suppose a non-elite Y fare could be listed that way, but I truly do not know how they show on the list. Remember that the non-elite Y-up is now an unofficial/unlisted benefit so it behaves differently.

I guess I could test it by buying a ticket for my wife and checking her in and seeing what happens. Maybe later tonight if I'm bored.

Yes, I mean non-elite. I do not remember when they get the upgrade (check-in or arrival at gate).

KNRG May 11, 2009 9:46 am

Two people were added to the upgrade-cleared list, was at 14 now it's 16 (to make the 20).

I am playing the j.ed bump game again. 14 in meal vouchers and 200 dl dollars gunning for 21 and 600.

KNRG May 11, 2009 9:49 am

And yup, buy-up's now says 4 seats for purchase.

At the gate. Dead last in the revenue list. After GG certs and everything else.

And we'll never know if they paid the $100 and jumped ahead of you as an elite. Whether something is actually fishy or not, it has the appearance of impropriety, which is just as bad.

if this is the case and 1 is a non rev and the other a non elite Y fare, I don't see that there is any problem in this. That is of course, IF that is a non elite Y fare and not a silver getting 'robbed', the standby and upgrade makes the other look like a non rev to me.

I don't think kNRG is elite due to a comment earlier :)

KNRG May 11, 2009 9:55 am

Quick chronology:

7am-ish. Offered buy-up as non elite, 5 seats avail for purchase, 15 people cleared, no standby for upgrade.

9-10ish. Seat 2B left the flight, reducing upgrade cleared to 14, increasing buy-up to 6

11ish. 2 added to upgrade standby list, 1 appears to be non-rev, and 6 seats still for buy-up.

11:45ish. 2 new people clear to upgrade list, buy-up reduces to 4, 2 people are still standing by for upgrade.

I don't think anything fishy here then, 1 non rev, and 1 person possibly full Y from another airline or walk up sale, none elite so they will get upgraded after everyone else.
