The Brazilian Consulate in NY is a pain. They will only accept apps from 10am-noon and i've made two attempts both of which have failed.

If you use its easy passport service , it may be cheaper than the 150 to reissue your ticket . Im not sure what the 2 day charge is.

I'm looking up expediters right now, but the thought of doing that for a MR seems silly. :)

Haha, I guess that is the key!

On another matter, surprised no fanfare in here that the Box crossed 54,000 posts.

I just spoke to them and they said it would take 3-5 days, even with the rush service.

Apparently, the swine flu has slowed down processing of Visas as they are doing more checks before issuing them.

If I take Amtrak up to the NJ mini-Do, what is the best stop at which to alight?

That is , you should call them back and tell them that
ALCO will not be happy with you and it is imperative that you get to Brazil :D

Extra points for use of the word "alight." ^

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. I'll pass them along to my wife. :)

Well, LIM is already ticketed for Dec.

At least the elite desk said they would waive the change fee for rebooking to GIG if I can't get it taken care of.
