Most of the complaints I've heard about FiOS have been that it's super expensive and their customer service isn't open on the weekends. We won't have the expense problem and my friend can do basic trouble-shooting over the phone.

Sounds like you have a friend in the 'right' place! I have FIOS & have been happy w/it. I signed up for a 2yr promo when they first introduced it up here. Will have to do some research when the contract is up next yr, as I've heard that it's expensive. I was paying a ton w/comcast, though & had a lot of problems w/outages on my internet.

Just a reminder to the box people about pregame Shogun at my place which is 7 minutes away.

I have come to wonder if Comcast does a hard reset of some equipment or something for this area...every weekday between 9:30 and 10:30 in the morning, my cable is uninterrupted but my Internet just decides to quit.:rolleyes::mad:

I've already booked at the 4p but thanks for the suggestions in the DO thread. Had I not booked I'd have looked into that Hyatt Place.

I am flying out of PHL at 9:30am however so not bad being close to PHL.

Or do I need a status match :D

Actually you probably are better off here. You should see the places where they hold their dinners. Some of them don't even have tables and sit-down, merely stools at a counter.

Here, dinner is at The Palm, there (and proudly) it is at a Greasy Spoon. :p

What is the rendez-vous time for the pre-Shogun festivities?

My cast-off bottle of Woodford will be making an appearance, and I hope sincerely that it does not make a return appearance on my way home.

I really don't know. Any thoughts out there? Shogun is at 7 PM

Are we making 'contributions' to both the pre- & post- festivities -- ie. food, drink, etc.?

I think I'm flexible, -- but then again, I may be picking up folks at EWR -- so it's really up to you & the others!

baglady said that she and Plus1 would be ready early in Manhattan. Early plus 45 minutes means that we get there in plenty of time for Olton Hall to also have plenty of time to regret his invitation. :D

I'm not sure if it's a BYO pregame, but I'm only bringing said bottle because an old client of mine gave it to me, unaware that I don't do whiskey. Never one to spurn a gift, I said thank you and then realized that apparently this stuff is a somewhat good label. Tried it just to say that I had, and decided (permanenetly as of that moment) that I'm a vodka guy. Upon posting that story the first time, several Box Denizens remarked that free Woodford is the best kind of Woodford. Since I don't like it, it's theirs to have that night.

I'll almost assuredly be one of the first carloads to be there since I'm doing some of the PHL pickups.

And I'll have the pleasure of your company again a mere two weeks later. ^
