I don't think I was ever on a DEN-IAH flight that wasn't elite heavy except for maybe the midday one.

The only upgrades I ever saw on that route were Y-UPs.

Thanks, I will look into them on Trip Advisor.

Dunno about TripAdvisor, but there were some reviews of them here in the thread on the fare. I think that SpinDrift is a notch above Ruby's from what I remember.

My thought process is irrational, and I will reverse it if given good reason to do so.

Go after the people if that's what you want, but your attacks on the product - one you've never flown from what I can tell - are a bit off the mark. And you don't generate much credibility in your arguments without any actual experience. It would be like me talking about military service.

I've never had any issues with connecting on UA at ORD. IAD, on the other hand, is just a dump, and a huge hassle to deal with.

No ORD connections on UA yet but I'll agree with the above analysis based on my flights over the past 18 months or so. There was one FA in C on my SFO-SYD flight who was awful, but I got over it. And that product was horrible but they've since replaced it. I'll get another load of UA flights this weekend (7 segment booked) to get a refresher but I don't expect anything to really change.

The key to making it last? I'm not sure. My work laptop gets a ton of use, is on and in use most of every weekday throughout the business day and the evening, and gets a lot of use on the weekends as well. I try not to bang it around too much, but it still has the occassional bump, and this machine has been dropped twice now on planes, once falling out of an overhead bin onto a seat, and the other time, off the seat and onto the floor. So far, it's not really had any problems, and hopefully that will continue since I'm still not quite to the halfway point of this computer's three year lifespan with me.

My agency has replaced the ID badge on mine multiple times - it goes pretty much everywhere pretty much all the time. It even attended CO Do IV.

I was able to go to the Avis just south of downtown Denver and turn the car in. They exchanged the Mazda CX-7 for a Mercury Mountaineer.

Glad that part of the interaction was uneventful - I got a Corolla subcompact last Friday (albeit one with 3 miles on the odometer).

How did you end up with such a small first car? Had a 1978 Buick LeSabre here, which I parallel parked as part of my driving test.

I've packed a fair amount and just need to go through my office (shut up, Plus1) to get all the misc. crap to take.

I do need to run by the cleaners tomorrow because someone (no names, Plus1 ;)) left the bag of cleaning on the grill. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Where ya going? Can I come?

awwww. c'mon, it's not that bad, really. I came here from the UK nearly 15 years ago and quite like where I live. Now, would I rather be living in Texas - you betcha little cotton socks I would - but central NJ isn't so bad ....

Then he opened one gift and it was exactly what he wanted, a electronic key board. We had dinner out at one of his favorite restaurants and then he opened a few more gifts. He declared today one of his best birthdays, if not the best.

You go, Mama! That comment coming from the mouth of a 15 yr old, means it must have been one smoking hot day!!!

It has been mercilessly hot in California the last several days. I just woke up to a cool, somewhat humid airflow and low ceilings, around 700ft, which I am very thankful for. That means SAN is on IFR and operations occur from runway 9 instead of 27. Taking off on 9 is a good time since they have a somewhat higher angle of attack on ascent.

+1 I'm starting to go through withdrawals so it should be a fun day. The EUA into a BF seat helps too. :)

I'm doing PHL-IAH-SAN on May 8 & 9. What PHL-IAH and IAH-PHL flights are you on?

Hmmm. We may be in IAH or PHL at the same time, then. I'll check out my flights and we can compare.

sbm12 Apr 22, 2009 7:38 am

I just bought a ticket on NK. I need a shower.

I will likely need one again after actually flying said trip, but I'll wait until Saturday night to pass that judgment.

New line, new carrier? You know you'll love it!

Never wouldn't be accurate, but the last time I did fly them I wasn't paying attention to the stuff that FT talks about, and my recollections of that flight are in some respects good. I can say with complete credibility that it's not that hard to have better coffee than CO, and I remember the UA coffee being much better, for example.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'm getting a little excited over trying UA. It's been too long, and I really do want to find out if I'm that far off the mark, and once I have some recent experience I will be glad to amend my thought process as needed.

Morning, Box.
