Just tried a locally based (Denver) chain called Smashburger. I give it a ^. Better than 5G. There is a Smashburger in Houston - Kriby and Main, down by the stadiums. I'll have to be a repeat customer.

If you get the chance while you are in Denver, try a bakery called [url=http://www.udisfood.com/]Udi's[/udi]. There are a few locations and their sandwiches are phenomenal.

Oh, Smashburger = ^^

It sounds like you want to do what I do. I have the desk top in one one room that has everything on it and there's a 23inch TV above it. I also have a laptop, which I'm on right now, that's in the living room so I can surf while I watch the good TV.

I think you would need a more expensive wireless router to handel the video you desire.

I use a media center extender for that. Works pretty well. Same idea as AppleTV, I suppose, but integrates with media center which means I don't have to deal with iTunes.

Can you please expand on what hardware/software you're using?

Thanks

Good Evening Box. Another day, another city, now in Atlanta.

Cavaliers blew out the Pistons and Indians are blowing out the Yanks. It's a good day.

Their mascot for this year is going to be the rented mule.

The "server" is a system running Vista Ultimate with Media Center enabled. I don't love it but it is functional. I've run in to a few problems sharing media from a different server (yes, I have more than one in my home right now) but I'll be fixing that soon enough with some planned upgrades.

The other end is the Linksys DMA 2200 Media Center Extender with DVD player. It basically acts as an extra computer on the network, with wireless built-in or you can go wired if you want. I have the wires so I went that route. You point it at the Media Center server and it just starts serving up content from there to the TV.

Getting Media Center set up was not trivial but I was also doing it on ancient hardware. With my planned upgrade it will be on new hardware that will support the media things much better and I don't expect nearly the same setup troubles (really I expect none at all given reasonable hardware) but I needed to do a proof of concept to make sure I liked what I was getting in to.

sbm12 and anyone else with a Kindle, do you subscribe to newspapers and/or magazines? If so, how do you like the reading format on the Kindle and do you feel there is anything missing (other than color photos). TIA.

Do your cable/sat boxes talk to the thing?

Both my Blu-Ray and my HD-DVD players have ethernet ports, so they (in theory?) could be hooked up as well? None of them are currently on our wireless network, I'd have to get access points for them.

I have HD cable box with DVR, Blu-Ray player and HDTV in one room and HD cable box, HD-DVD player and HDTV in the bedroom. All are connected by HDMI cables.

The Wii is in the bedroom, but does not like our network. I'll need to spend more time with that.

Our cable modem and wireless router are in Baglady's office.

Being able to have the media in one place and play it anywhere would be a great thing.

That's something I'd like to to myself. The TV in the computer room doesn't have a box so the channels it get's w/o a monster sized cable box is limited. I lost CBS HD the other day when Comcrap redid everthing. (ok why does CNN have a HD channel in 16:9 when they have no 16:9 content?)
